Natural slope of hillock offers the site natural defence from S through W to N. Situated at W end of an E-W esker ridge in undulating countryside. Raised roughly circular area (diam 40m) defined by a scarp (H 2.5m), fosse (Wth 3m) and external bank (Wth 1.2m; ext. H 0.5m) which is only visible from SW through W to NE elsewhere it is destroyed. Modern farm buildings are built along the SE side of the site destroying both fosse and external bank. Smooth rendered plinth and roughcast render to side and rear elevations. Replacement uPVC windows with painted sills. Stilted segmental-headed door opening with pebbledash to keystone, moulded stucco surround, panelled door and stained glass overlight and side lights. Two-storey roughcast rendered outbuilding to abutting east gable with corrugated-iron roof and timber battened door. Single-storey extension to west with concrete balustrade to parapet. Single-storey agricultural outbuilding to north with hipped corrugated-iron roof and roughcast rendered walls.
