- OF019-004: Church, https://heritagedata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=0c9eb9575b544081b0d296436d8f60f8&query=18a4b61b268-layer-9%2CSMRS%2COF019-004----. Situated on flat land with extensive views in all directions. Poorly preserved remains of a nave (int. dims. 6m N-S; 9.4m E-W) and chancel (int. dims. 4m N-S ; 5m E-W; wall T 0.7m) church constructed with uncoursed large roughly shaped stones. No architectural features visible. Large breach (Wth 2m) in the N wall possibly belongs to destroyed door. Graveyard (OF019-004001-) contains 19th and 18th-century headstones with modern extension to W. Probable early medieval church. Early medieval church built with limestone rubble. Nave (ext. dims. 10.75m E-W x 7.5m N-S) and narrower chancel (5.5m N-S x 5.6m E-W) apparently contemporary since there is no evidence to the contrary. No architectural features to be seen. Gap in W end of S wall probably represents remains of doorway. A test excavation was carried out by John Kavanagh of Icon Archaeology Ltd under licence No. 08E0351 at a greenfield site (NGR 25906/22428) at Cloncreen, Clonbologue, Co. Offaly, prior to the construction of a single domestic dwelling opposite the site of a church and graveyard (OF019–004----). During the course of the excavation a single narrow gully and fire-spot were uncovered. These features were resolved under licence 08E0894 (Bennett 2011, 298). A test excavation was carried out by John Kavanagh of Icon Archaeology Ltd under licence No. 08E0893 at a greenfield site at Cloncreen, Clonbologue, Co. Offaly, prior to the construction of a house opposite the site of a church and graveyard (OF019–004). During the course of the test excavation a single plough furrow was uncovered. An excavation is scheduled for 2009 (Bennett 2011, 298). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Offaly' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). Situated on flat land with extensive views in all directions with Cloncrane House 60m to E. Poorly preserved remains of a nave and chancel church (OF019-004----) in the centre of a rectangular-shaped graveyard (approx. dims. 26m N-S x 43m E-W) containing memorials dating from the post-1700 period. The graveyard has been extended to the W in modern times. On the 1838 ed. OS 6-inch map the medieval church ruins are depicted standing in the centre of a small rectangular shaped graveyard the S boundary of which is formed by a public road running E-W. The site (L 7.2m min.; Wth 1.48m; D 0.08m) is orientated WNW-ESE and consists of regularly laid roundwoods (diam. 0.065-0.12m), brushwood (diam. 0.02-0.05m.), twigs and two split timbers. The elements are densely packed and laid longitudinally. The timbers, roundwoods and heavy brushwood make up the main body of the site, with the lighter brushwood and twigs deposited between and on either side of them. The wood is in poor to moderate condition. It lies in moderately humified Sphagnum peat. Radiocarbon dated to 3695-3380 cal. BC (Wk-11733). Triple-arch masonry road bridge, built c.1790, carrying the Edenderry to Clonbulloge road over the River Figile. Random rubble construction. Semicircular profile arches with dressed stone voussoirs. Upstream V-cutwaters.
- Cloncrane House, farm house, 1870–1890, Regional interest, registry number 14919005, https://www.buildingsofireland.ie/niah/search.jsp?type=record&county=OF&regno=14919005. Detached three-bay two-storey farmhouse, built c.1880, with single-storey flanking bays and extensions to rear. Set within own grounds. Hipped slate roof with terracotta ridge tiles and rendered chimneystacks. Roughcast render to walls with smooth rendered plinth and quoins. Replacement timber casement windows with tooled stone sills. Segmental-headed doorway with moulded surround and replacement timber and glazed door with spoked fanlight. Stone outbuildings with tiled roofs to rear. Random rubble wall and gate piers to front site.

A townland is the smallest land division of Ireland, and the unit of a rural address; old registers such as the 1901 and 1911 censuses file it under its civil parish and barony.
