Towards the bottom of a NE-facing slope. Circular grass and scrub-covered platform (diam. 35.6m N-S; 33.1m E-W) defined by an overgrown scarp (H 0.5-0.8m) SW-W-NE, with an earthen bank (Wth 4m; int. H 0.2m; ext. H 0.75m) on the perimeter separated by a berm (Wth 3m) from an outer bank (Wth 2.3m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 0.2m) NE-E. A stone wall defines the perimeter E-SW, but there is a quarry inside it, and a NE-SW field wall overlies the interior towards the perimeter at NW. At the E end of a low WNW-ESE ridge. Described in 1964 as a D-shaped area (dims c. 40m E-W; c. 35m N-S) defined by an earthen bank (Wth c. 2m; int. H c. 1m; ext. H c. 1.5m) which had been straightened by a road bank and replaced by a stone wall at NE and with slight traces of a fosse at NW (SMR file). Marked only on the 1928 ed. of the OS 6-inch map as an arc (C c. 30m) of hachures N-E, and situated on a gentle SW-facing slope at the E end of a low WNW-ESE ridge. This is a D-shaped grass and scrub-covered area (dims 30m NNE-SSW; 30m WNW-ESE) defined by an overgrown flat-topped earthen bank (Wth of base 1.5m; H 0.6m) NW-E-SW, but there is no evidence of the perimeter SW-NW or of a fosse or an identifiable original entrance. A boulder (RO041-071002-) (dims 0.6m x 0.6m; H 0.35m) inside the perimeter at SE has a rough-out for a quernstone (diam. 0.35m) with a central hole (diam. 0.07m; D 0.05m) and a cross inscribed on its upper surface.
