On a high, level landscape. D-shaped area (int. dims 28m NE-SW; 20m NW-SE) defined by a stone wall (Wth 1m; H 1m), with large stones at the base of the wall SE-SSW. It is known locally as 'Cashel Beg', and is used as a vegetable garden. Cashel (RO025-010001-) is c. 110m to the SSE, and the possible cashel (RO025-009----) is c. 210m to the E. Marked on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map as an embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 60m) and on the 1928 ed. as a subcircular field (dims. c. 40m N-S; c. 35m E-W) with 5 field walls radiating off it. Situated on a high, level landscape, it was removed in the 1960s (Gannon 1972) and is not now visible at ground level in reclaimed pasture. On a gentle S-facing slope of a plateau. Circular grass-covered (int. diam. 34.1m N-S; 33.5m E-W) defined by a rebuilt wall (Wth 1.8-2.2m; int. H 1-1.3m; ext. H 1.2-1.9m) on the line of the cashel wall, the outer face of which survives (H 1.3m) N-E, and inner and outer facing stones can be seen at the base of the wall all around. There are modern entrances at WNW (Wth 1.1m) and NW (Wth 3.2m), but the wall has collapsed S-W. Cashel (RO025-008001-) is 110m to the NW, the possible cashel (RO025-009----) is 180m to the ENE, and building (RO025-011001-) is c. 100m to the SW. Marked as a chapel on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, but its idendity as a chapel could not be confirmed (OS Name Books). Situated on a N-facing slope of an oval grass-covered hillock (dims 50m NW-SE; 28.6m NE-SW at SE to 33m NE-SW at NW; max. H 5.2m at NW to 7.2m at SE), which was regarded as an ancient assembly point (ibid.). Rectangular structure (int. dims c. 10.3m NE-SW; c. 8.8m NW-SW) defined by a grass-covered mound (Wth c. 4m; H 0.5-0.9m) with some facing-stones visible. It is regarded as the site of a monastery (Fitzmaurice 1988), and it may be the site of a castle. Cashel (RO023-010001-) is c. 100m to the NE, and cashel (RO025-008001-) is c. 160m to the NNE.
