It is situated on a shelf of a N-facing slope. Circular overgrown area (diam. c. 40m) planted with mature deciduous trees on the perimeter defined by an eroded earthen bank (Wth 4.3-4.8m; int. H 0.1-0.2m; ext. H 0.3-0.6m) E-W-N. There is no visible entrance or fosse, but a modern drain circumscribes the monument. Fortview House is c. 350m to the SE. On top of a low rise in an undulating landscape. Subcircular grass-covered area (dims 32m E-W; 27.5m N-S) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 3.6-4.5m; int. H 0.4-0.6m; ext. H 1m) E-S-NW and a scarp (H 1m) at NE, with an outer fosse (Wth of top 5.2-6.5m; D 0.3m at SE) E-ESE and W-NW, which is represented by a berm (Wth 5m) S-W. There is an outer earthen bank (Wth 4m; int. H 0.3-0.8m; ext. H 1-1.15m) W-NW, and a possible entrance (Wth 3.5m) at W. The perimeter at N has been quarried away. Grass-covered area with ash trees, but no evidence of an enclosing feature. It was probably a copse or covert. H 1.3m at S to 1.6m at W) separated by a fosse (Wth of top 6-6.8m; Wth of base 4-4.7m; D 1.1-1.4m) from an outer bank (Wth 4.7-5.8m; ext. H 0.9-1.3m) with some bushes. H 0.9m; ext. H 1.25m) with some bushes WSW-N-E which is reduced to a scarp (H 0.7m) elsewhere, and an outer fosse (Wth of top 4m; Wth of base 2.5-3.3m; D 0.2-0.4m) N-NE. There is no visible entrance, but an E-W field bank and hedge overlies the interior towards the perimeter at S. Rath (RO017-053----) is c. 30m to the N.
