Situated on the N-facing slope towards the W end of a WNW-ESE ridge. An arc (C c. 20m) of an earthen bank (Wth 3.2-5.9m; int. H 0.25-0.4m; ext. H 0.3-1.2m) and fosse (Wth of top 8.8m; Wth of base 2.4m; D 0.5-0.8m) survives ENE-S, but the outer edge of the fosse is damaged SE-S. There is an entrance (Wth 4m) through the bank at SSE, but the rest of the perimeter cannot be traced. On the N-facing slope of a WNW-ESE ridge. Circular grass and rush-covered area (diam. 34.6m N-S; 33m E-W) defined by slight traces of a bank (int. H 0.1-0.3m) N-NNE and SSE-SSW, and a rounded but overgrown fosse (Wth of top 5.7-7.8m; Wth of base 2-4.5m; int. D 0.8-1.5m; ext. D 0.6-1.05m) ESE-S-NW, which is circumscribed by a field bank SW-NW. The ramp entrance (Wth 2m) is at SW. Rath (RO038-030----) is c. 190m to the NE. (RO038). Situated towards the bottom of a N-facing slope. D-shaped scrub-covered area (dims 33.4m ENE-WSW; 22.2m NNW-SSE) defined by a scarp (H 0.2-0.8m) W-N-E, with a slight earthen bank (Wth 2.8m; H 0.45m) on the perimeter at ENE. The monument is truncated by an ENE-WSW field bank and hedge at S and cannot be seen S of this. Rath (RO038-029----) is c. 190m to the SW. It is marked similarly on the 1840 (GA020) and 1927 (RO038) eds of the OS 6-inch map as a simple graveyard, and is situated on a rise in an undulating landscape. The wedge-shaped graveyard (RO038-033002-) (dims 68m E-W; 46m N-S at W; 78m N-S at E) is defined by masonry walls with a cairn (dims 5m NNW-SSE; 3m ENE-WSW; H 0.5m) at the centre which may be the remains of the church. Two fragments of what may be a churchyard cross with a square cross-section (dims L 0.57m; 0.4m; 0.2m x 0.21m: total L 0.9m) have been identified and recorded by Mary B. Timoney and Martin A. Timoney. It has at least two sets of pyramidal stops on the chamfered edges, and the remains of the square head has a panel with the date 1632 beneath the initials OS in false relief on one side. The Timoneys have also identified and recorded a graveslab (L 2.04m; Wth 0.65-0.78m; T 0.18m) with an incised floriated and ringed cross on a two-step calvary. The initials IB are within the ring, and the date 1624 is beneath it, in relief.
