Marked only on the 1914 ed. of the OS 6-inch map as a hachured feature (diam. c. 25m) truncated at S by an E-W quarry. Situated on the SW bank of the NW-SE Feorish River with the river immediately to the N. D-shaped scrub-covered area (dims. 17m E-W; 8.5m N-S) defined by a scarp (H 0.8m at W to 3.2m at E). It is bisected by a N-S field bank and drain, and truncated by a quarry at S. It may be a spoil mound. Moated site (RO001-002----) is c. 180m to the NE. On the NW-facing slope of a slight ridge in a low-lying landscape. A well where the pattern was held between 15th Aug. and 8th Sep. was venerated in the 19th century (O'Flanagan 1928, 238; D'Alton 1845, 84), but it is no longer visible. Depicted as a rectangular roofed building aligned NW-SE on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map where it is described in gothic lettering as a ‘Church’. It is situated on a slight ridge in a low-lying landscape. A low grassy scarp (L 7m; H 0.1-0.2m) survives with no visible evidence of an enclosure or burial. It may be a penal church.
