On top of the SW summit of a NE-SW ridge. Subcircular grass-covered area (dims 80m E-W; 73m N-S) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 7m at W to 11.3m at E; int. H 0.6m at W to 1.75m at E; ext. H 1.25-1.75m). There is no visible entrance and there is no surface evidence of the internal fosse and central platform recorded by Knox (1914b, 348). The large bowl-barrow (RO006-118002-) is outside the perimeter at E, and the perimeter of the enclose is straightened on this side. Bowl-barrow (RO010-001----) is c. 380m to the SW, and the henge (RO006-118007-) is c. 300m to the E. (Stout 1991, 283, west; Condit 1993) See the attached aerial image taken from the N. On top of the S summit of a NE-SW ridge. Circular grass-covered and flat-topped earthen mound (diam. of base 33m N-S; 30m E-W; diam. of top 11m; H 5.2-5.3m) defined by a fosse (Wth of top 7m at E to 9.8m at S; D 0.05m at S to 1m at E), with a small mound (diam. c. 3.5-3.75m; H 0.3m) on the summit (max. ext. diam. 45m). The embanked enclosure (RO006-118001-) is immediately outside the perimeter at W, and the fosse of the barrow may have straightened the bank of the enclosure here. Knox (1914b, 348-9) describes traces of an outer bank, and it may be an inauguration mound, although there are no historical references (FitzPatrick 2004, 82-4). Towards the top of the SW-facing slope of the NE summit of a NE-SW ridge. Marked as a circular enclosure (diam. c. 50m) only on the 1914 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and visible on aerial photographs as a large enclosure defined by a wide fosse with traces of an internal and external bank (CUCAP: AHN 3-6) which appears to have had an entrance at SE. It has been removed since the 1970s and is visible today as a circular grass-covered area (diam. c. 40m) defined by a slight scarp (H 0.1-0.5m). Archaeological testing (99E0233; 99E0366) associated with a NNW-SSE road c. 50m to the W failed to produce any related archaeological material (Moore 2000; Swan 2000b), and neither did testing (06E0297) c. 100m to the WNW (Henry 2009a). Ring-barrow (RO006-118005-) is c. 30m to the E.
