Circular overgrown island (diam. 25.5m) of earth and stones (H 1.2m) with vertical palisade posts visible under water SW-N, and with some horizontal timbers at W. Crannog (RO017-109----) is c. 180m to the WSW, crannog (RO017-204----) is c. 20m to the NW, and crannog (RO-017-112----) is c. 190m to the SE. Marked only on the 1914 ed. of the OS 6-inch map as a D-shaped hachured enclosure (dims c. 30m N-S; c. 25m E-W) which is truncated by a N-S road bank at E. Situated on a gentle S-facing slope of a low NW-SE rise. Described as a circular area defined by an earth and stone bank with an outer fosse which was truncated by a road bank at E (Gannon 1972). Archaeological testing (96E0190) in the vicinity failed to produce any related material (Ryan 1997b), and the monument is now a lawn with a bungalow just outside it to the NW. Just off the crest of the SSE-facing slope of a low drumlin. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 35m N-S; 32m E-W) defined by a flat-topped earthen bank (Wth of base 4-4.5m; Wth of top 2-2.6m; int. H 0.2-0.5m; ext. H 1.1-1.6m) planted with deciduous trees and a complete fosse (Wth of base 1.4-1.8m; D 0.7-1m), which is re-cut as a drain E-S. There is no visible entrance. Rendered walls on rendered chamfered plinth with rendered panelled giant pilasters to corners supporting blind frieze. Segmental-headed central door opening in segmental-headed recess with overgrown threshold, and rendered surround having chamfered reveals framing timber panelled double doors having overlight. Round-headed window openings in tripartite arrangement (first floor) with sill course, and concealed dressings framing one-over-one timber sash windows.
