H 1m) elsewhere. There is no visible fosse or recognisable entrance, and the interior is overlain by an E-W field bank towards the perimeter at N. On a flat low-lying landscape within a golf-course. Described (de Valera and O 'Nuallain 1972, 33-4) as a gallery (dims 8.5m E-W; 1-1.7m N-S) with seven side-stones on the N and ten on the S sides, and with one lintel at the E end. The W end is separated by a septal stone from a portico (dims 1.5m x c. 1.5m) which has two facade stones to the N. It was within a trapezoidal cairn or mound (dims c. 10m E-W; c. 2.5m N-S at E to c. 7.5m N-S at W) defined by kerbstones at N and S. It is now visible as a circular, rounded and grass-covered mound (diam. c. 24m; H 1.6-2m) with the capstone of the gallery just visible on its summit. Rath (RO006-172----) is c. 80m to the SW. Oval grass-covered area (dims. c. 48m NE-SW; c. 33m NW-SE) defined by a scarp (max. H 1.4m) NE-S and as a scarp down to the interior (H 0.5m) elsewhere. There is no visible fosse or entrance. Rath (RO006-169----) is c. 200m to the W. Wedge tomb (RO006-171----) is c. 80m to the NE. On a low-lying landscape with an E-W stream to the N. The excavation (Henry 2000b) of an oval mound of broken and burnt stones (dims. 10m E-W; 7.6m N-S; T 0.1m) revealed an trough (dims. 2.1m E-W; 1.3m N-S) which had a base of ash planks and one side composed of wattle. A plank produced a C14 date of 3783 +- 56 BP. Two paved areas (upper: dims. 12m E-W; 4m N-S; lower: dims. 14m E-W; 5m N-S) overlying each other and post-dating the mound were recorded just W of the mound.
