In mature coniferous plantation in level poorly drained ground on the E bank of the Owenmore River. A strip (Wth 8m) of waterlogged grass and rushes separates the NW perimeter from the river. A large circular enclosure (62m N-S) defined by a low earthen bank and a shallow external fosse. The enclosure is planted with coniferous trees in rows c. 2m apart on a roughly N-S axis. The bank (Wth 3.5m; int. H 0.5m; ext. H 0.75m) survives as a broad low earthen rise with a gently rounded top and broadly slumped sides. The fosse (Wth 3m; D 0.3m) is evident as a shallow depression marked in parts by pools of water. The 1913 OS 6-inch map shows a wide break in the bank NE-E but this area is engulfed in a thicket of fallen trees and overgrowth and was impossible to inspect. The interior is level. Small pools of water occur in parts within the interior and there is an area of particularly boggy ground at E. A low field boundary (Wth 2m; H 0.5m) and an infilled drain (Wth c. 2m) extend to E from the SE edge of the enclosure. Upstanding remains comprise a subcircular area (int. diam. 27m) enclosed by a low broad earthen bank (Wth 3.5m; int. H 0.5m; ext. H 0.5m). Traces of an external fosse (Wth 4m; D 0.4m) are evident along the SE arc. Mature horse-chestnut trees grow within the interior. This is likely to be post-1700 AD in date. Detached four-bay single-storey rendered gate lodge, built c. 1820. Oblong on plan, gabled porch to east elevation, single-storey hipped roof canted bay to north gable. Pitched artificial slate roof, clay ridge tiles, lead cappings to porch ridge and canted bay hips, painted smooth-rendered paired corbelled chimneystacks, moulded cast-iron gutters on overhanging eaves, projecting painted fretwork timber barges. Painted smooth-rendered ruled-and-lined walling, projecting plinth. Square-headed window openings, hood mouldings, flush sills, painted diamond-pane pairs of timber sash windows. Shallow pointed-arched entrance door opening, painted timber four-panel door.
