In damp low-lying pasture, c. 150m S of the Owenbeg River and incorporated into a field boundary. A D-shaped well (0.8m NW-SE; 0.8m NE-SW; D 0.4m) recessed into rising ground SE-NW and faced with stone (H 1.5m). A flat concrete slab, on which the visitor stands, defines the straight side. Outside the slab, a NW-SE mortared stone wall intersects with a curving wall to completely enclose the well. A series of steps built into this wall allows access to the well. Another holy well (SL026-015----) dedicated to St Fechin is c. 1.6km to E in Kilnamanagh townland. St Fechin's church and bed (SL026-011001-; SL026-011002-) are c. 200m to S and St Fechin's stone (SL026-012002-) is c. 350m to E. There are four other wells associated with St Fechin in the vicinity (SL026-015----; SL026-086----; SL026-151----; SL033-062----). In pasture, bordered on the SE side by a road. A roughly trapezoidal-shaped area (18.5m E-W; 10.5m N-S at W end, 4.7m at E end) defined by a scarp (H 0.6m) except on the SE side where it is fringed by the roadside field boundary. The entire platform is grass-covered and though stones protrude randomly from the scarp, no masonry or wall structure is apparent. Its surface is generally level but uneven. On the N side, the scarp drops 0.4m down to a low triangular terrace (5.5m N-S; c. 4-5m E-W), the N corner of which incorporates a sod-covered cairn of loose stones (diam. c. 3m; H 1.2m). Embedded in the terrace is a saint's stone known as 'St Fechin's Bed' (SL026-011002-). There is a holy well (SL026-010----) c. 200m to the N. Embedded in a low terrace abutting the W end of the N side of the platform known as St Fechin's church (SL026-011001-). A prostrate limestone slab (min. dims. 2m E-W; 1.2m N-S) is largely covered by sod. Roughly in the centre of its flat upper surface is an elongated solution fissure (c. 1m N-S; 0.25m E-W; D 0.35m). According to local tradition, the stone could cure backache. The patient had to lie flat with the spine aligned along the central fissure. St Fechin's holy well (SL026-010----) is c. 200m to N and another saint's stone, St Fechin's Stone (SL026-012002-), is c. 400m to NE. In pasture, in the NW corner of a field, on a slight rise and c. 100m S of the Owenbeg River. Indicated on the 1838 OS 6-inch map as an oval enclosure. Now levelled; the remains consist of an oval area (c. 30m NW-SE; 23m NE-SW), clipped at NW and N by field boundaries and defined by a degraded scarp (H 1m) extending for c. 15m N-ESE in a gentle curve, coinciding with a low natural break in slope. Occasional stones protrude from the sod along the line of the scarp. The scarp peters out at SE but a barely discernible undulation continues SE-SW, truncated at SW by a linear field boundary on a N-S axis. Where the field boundary (L 12m; Wth 2.5-3m; H on E side 0.8m; H on W side 0.8m) overlies the presumed line of the enclosure W-NW, it has a broad slumped W face and is noticeably stonier and more substantial than elsewhere. St Fechin's Stone (SL026-012002-) lies c. 30m to S. Incorporated into a N-S field fence in an area of low-lying pasture to S of the Owenbeg River. A limestone slab (L c. 2.2m; T 1m at W end; 0.12m at E end; H c. 1m), with a rough convoluted moss-covered surface, is set on end in the ground. The long axis of the stone is perpendicular to the line of the fence and the stone protrudes from both the W and E faces of the fence. The stone is wedge-shaped in plan, with the broad W end gradually tapering to a narrow sharp-edged E end. The stone protrudes by c. 0.2-0.3m from the W side of the fence and 1.4m from the E side. A perforation (Wth 0.13m; max. H 0.35m) through the thickness of the stone occurs at the base of the stone close to the E face of the field fence. Due to overgrowth on the fence and the position of the perforation it is difficult to examine but it appears to be a natural solution hole, rather irregular and decreasing in size from S to N. St Fechin's well (SL026-010----) is c. 350m to W and St Fechin's church and bed (SL026-011001- and SL026-011002-) are c. 400m to SW. An enclosure (SL026-012001) lies c. 30m to N.
