In rough pasture, on top of a ridge and adjacent to a road. A slightly raised circular area (diam. c. 22m) enclosed by the remains of an earthen bank (Wth 3.2m; int. H 0.6m; ext. H 1.4m) with a number of gaps, and by an external fosse (Wth 4m; D 0.7m) E-NW. There is a possible entrance (Wth 4m) at SW with a causeway across the fosse. There is a souterrain (SL034-097002-) in the NW quadrant. The perimeter is overgrown at E and N. Another rath (SL034-098----) is c. 40m to SE. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005). In the NW quadrant of a rath (SL034-097001-). A linear stone-lined passage (long axis E-W) with a lintelled roof, leads westwards to a circular stone-lined chamber (diam. 1.6m; H 0.8m) which is adjacent to the bank of the rath. Prof. R. A. S. Macalister, in an unpublished report dated 1911, noted that the passage was divided into two by a partition with a lintelled creepway (SMR (1989) file). On rocky pasture about 4km W of the N end of Lough Arrow. Scant structural remains of a tomb survive in a low, poorly defined oval mound (19m NE-SW; max. 12m NW-SE). Two adjoining sidestones (combined length 4m) and a jamb remain of the more southerly side of a gallery aligned NE-SW. The jamb is at the NE end of the line described by the two sidestones and just 1m beyond the opposite end there is a prostrate slab, possibly a fallen backstone. Between this and the line of stones there is an upright stone which does not appear to be in situ. There are also some prostrate stones at the site. Some 2m E of the jamb a depression in the mound may mark the position of a court. 'Toberstarley' holy well (SL034-100001-) lies c. 50m to S. (Ó Nualláin 1989, 62, no. 100) The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005). In rough marshy pasture. A low semicircular earth and stone bank (Wth 1.6m; H 0.5m) encloses a shallow pool of water (diam. 2m; D 0.3m). A concrete pump-house is immediately adjacent. Named 'Toberstarling' on the 1838 OS 6-inch map. A court tomb (SL034-099----) lies c. 50m to N and 'Tobernagalliagh' (SL034-100002-) c. 100m to S. According to Wood-Martin (1892, 355-6, n. 1), this well was 'formerly held in estimation as "holy"'. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005). In boggy pasture, at the base of a NE-facing slope c. 100m S of 'Toberstarley' (SL034-100001-). A natural spring well, defined by small stones, immediately to W of a field boundary. Named 'Tobernagalliagh' on the 1838 OS 6-inch map. In rough pasture, on the W-facing slope of a ridge. The remains of a circular area (int. diam. 52m N-S; 54m E-W) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 4m; int. H 0.5m; ext. H 1.3m) NE-S and by a scarp NNW-NE. An external fosse (Wth 5m; D 1.2m) is evident along the E arc, silted-up along the W arc where it is marked by a thick band of irises. The interior slopes gently down to W. A NE-SW field boundary incorporates the E bank of the rath and joins another field boundary (on a NW-SE axis) to S which cuts across the line of the fosse on the SW edge of the rath. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005). In pasture, on top of a ridge, adjacent to a farmyard on the NE side of a road. A slightly raised circular area (diam. 22m) enclosed by a substantial earthen bank (Wth 3m; int. H 0.6m; ext. H 1.3m) which is best preserved along the N and E arcs. The remnants of internal stone kerbing is evident and a number of eroded gaps were noted along the bank. An external fosse (Wth c. 2m) is evident as a shallow depression. The farmyard boundary abuts the bank at E and S where the bank is heavily overgrown. There is a possible souterrain (SL034-103002-) in the SW quadrant. A trigonometrical station is indicated on the 1914 OS 6-inch map on S edge of the rath. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005). In a rath (SL034-103001-). Prof. R. A. S. Macalister, in an unpublished report dated 1911, described 'some large stones' on top of the bank at the SW side of the rath and 'a depression on the surface as though there had been a souterrain' (SMR (1989) file). Two large slabs on the ground near the bank in the SW quadrant are still evident. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005). In rough pasture, located on a steep SW-facing slope, which drops into a broad valley, with a small stream in its base. There are very good views into the valley, and to S, with Carrowkeel visible in the distance to SE and Kesh Corran to SSW. This enclosure is not indicated on any edition of the OS 6-inch maps. A broadly oval area (70m NE–SW; 60-65m NW–SE) is defined by a fosse (W c. 2m) evident as a barely-discernible depression. At S–SW a slight scarp can be traced where the arc of the enclosure coincides with the base of the natural slope. The interior is not raised relative to exterior ground level, and slopes steeply down to SW, reflecting the natural slope. A field bank/property boundary, on a NE–SW axis, cuts through the enclosure to NW of centre. Part of the W quadrant of the interior has been incorporated into a small plantation of deciduous trees. At SE the fosse is truncated by a subcircular quarry pit (diam. c. 12m), now grassed over. A rath (SL034-103001-) is located 175m to NW and another (SL034-104----) 250m to WSW.
