In pasture, located on top of a hill overlooking the junction of the Carrowcor River and the Dunneill River at base of the W slope of the hill. The W slope of the hill has been partly quarried away. Oblong area (38.5m N–S; 26.5m E–W) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 2.9m at N, 3.5m at S; int. H 0.6-0.75m; ext. H 1.7m at N, 1.2m at S. A gap (Wth 3.2m), slightly off-centre to S on the E side, probably represents the original entrance. In the N half of the interior, close to the bank at E, there is a possible subcircular hut site (SL012-037002-). In the SW quadrant of the interior, remnants of a low bank (Wth 1.3m; H 0.2m) extend from the enclosure bank at W for 8m into the interior to SE. This may be part of a structure (SL012-037003-) built against the enclosure bank. There are also traces of a possible E-W division in the S half of the interior but, at the time of visit, the remains were obscured by long grass and difficult to interpret. In pasture, situated on top of a N–S ridge, close to the break of slope on the SE side. There is a gentle fall of ground towards a stream c. 50m to E, and a steeper fall of ground at S. Raised circular area (20m N–S; 22.4m E–W) enclosed by a bank (Wth 3.9m; int. H 0.3m; ext. H 1.5-1.8m, at N) of earth and stone. Stones protruding from the external face of the bank may be remnants of stone facing. The interior slopes down from N to S. There is a shallow depression in the S half. There is a possible entrance through the bank at NW. A possible enclosure (SL012-043002-) is located immediately to W. In pasture, located on a level terrace on a N-S ridge, bounded by a steep fall of ground on S–W, with a rath (SL012-043001-) located immediately to W at a higher level on the ridge. Shown on the 1913 OS 6-inch map as a hachured arc curving S–NW. Remnants of bank curving in a shallow arc S–NW can be discerned beneath dense overgrowth, possibly representing the W side of an originally circular enclosure (diam. c. 15-18m). A parcel is the land of a title, not an address. The owner's name is in the Land Registry of Tailte Éireann: a copy of the folio can be ordered on landdirect.ie, for a fee; this site names no owner. A price is the price recorded for a past sale, not a valuation.
