This is the site of a High Victorian Tudor-Gothic house of polychrome brick, with gables, dormer-gables and a turret and spire, built from 1856 onwards by Capt. T. J. Meredith to the design of an architect named Montgomery (Bence-Jones 1978, 88). The house was replaced by a modern monastery and church surrounded by an asphalt car park. The original doorway of the house has been dismantled and reconstructed as the entrance to a garden patio. Above the slightly pointed arch is a coat of arms. Built into the wall next to the patio entrance is a coat of arms with the latin motto DEUS PROVIDEBIT. The right angled landscaping feature indicated with hachures on the 1913 edition of the OS 6-inch map immediately to the east of the the 19th-century house, and almost certainly associated with it, does not survive. A parcel is the land of a title, not an address. The owner's name is in the Land Registry of Tailte Éireann: a copy of the folio can be ordered on landdirect.ie, for a fee; this site names no owner.
