The monument, which has been destroyed, stood some 10m N of the northern extremity of a court tomb (SL035-062----). OS documents record a structure formed of upright stones at this spot in or about 1914 but it had been removed by 1952. A plan of the tomb (Wood-Martin 1883-4, 454, no. 13; 1888, 175, no. 13) shows an oval gallery (L c. 7m; max. Wth c. 3m) which seems to have opened to the N. In a brief account Wood-Martin claimed that the monument terminated in two circles though these are not illustrated on his plan. A wedge tomb (SL035-063----) lies c. 150m to SSW. (Ó Nualláin 1989, 65-6, no. 107) The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005). Date of upload: 18 January 2008 See linked document with details from Seán Ó Nualláin, Survey of the Megalithic Tombs of Ireland. Volume V. County Sligo. (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1989) - SL035-062: Megalithic tomb - court tomb, https://heritagedata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=0c9eb9575b544081b0d296436d8f60f8&query=18a4b61b268-layer-9%2CSMRS%2CSL035-062----. On rolling pasture and c. 100m NNE of a wedge tomb (SL035-063----) and c. 10m S of the site of an unclassified megalithic tomb (SL035-061----). A U-shaped court (L at least 5.5m; Wth c. 7.5m) at the SSE leads to a gallery (L 9m). Three stones remain of the more easterly arm of the court and five of the opposite arm. Two jambs mark the entrance to the gallery which is divided by three other pairs of jambs into four chambers. There is a sillstone between the jambs separating the second and third chamber. The gallery sides are quite well-preserved and the backstone is in place. The tomb is in a poorly preserved long mound (L c. 33m). About 2m outside the E arm of the court there is a kerbstone and another 1.5m outside the W arm. Seven probable kerbstones are exposed along the northern half of the W side of the mound. The backstone and southern sidestone of what appears to be a small lateral subsidiary chamber stand at the W side of the mound almost 5m beyond the back of the gallery. A field fence extends along both arms of the court, the E side of the gallery and from the gallery backstone northwards along the mound. There is a small quarry to the E of this fence behind the gallery. (Ó Nualláin 1989, 66-7, no. 106) The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005). Near the crest of a low ridge in rolling pasture. Part of a WSW-facing gallery (L c. 3m; Wth 1.2m) and the remains of outer-walling and a facade survive here. Two orthostats are visible on the S side of the gallery. Opposite the western of these there is another orthostat and to the E of this two corbels rising above fill continue the line of the gallery side. Just beyond these there is a partly concealed stone which may also be a corbel. There are five outer-wall stones to the S of the gallery, two of them together at the W and three alongside at the E. The N side of the outer-walling is represented by a single stone. Two facade stones adjoin the W end of the outer-wall at the S. Two roofstones cover the surviving length of gallery. A third roofstone which lay to the E of these and also the northern half of the façade have been lost since the later half of the 19th century (Wood-Martin 1883-4, 453-4; 1888, 172-4). A stone protruding from a fence crossing the NW corner of the structure and another alongside it may be displaced facade stones. A stone at the E end of the structure could indicate the back of the outer wall but is not definitely in situ. Traces of a mound, not more than 0.5m high, are visible along the S side of the monument. A court tomb (SL035-062----) is c. 100m to NNE and the site of an unclassified megalithic tomb (SL035-061----) is c. 150m to NNE. Near the summit of a ridge. A raised circular area (int. diam. 24.8m x 23.9m) enclosed by an earthen bank (Wth 2.45m; int. H 0.75m; ext. H 1.45m) and an external fosse. The fosse is mostly silted-up but is widest and deepest (Wth 4m; D 1.3m) along the S arc. The entrance (Wth 4.6m), with a causeway across the fosse, is at SE. The interior slopes slightly down to NW. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005). On the N side of a field boundary and c. 10m NE of a rath (SL035-100----). This holy well is now closed-in, overgrown with vegetation and dry since a new well was dug slightly downhill. It was recorded in 1836 as 'Tobar na Glaise from the enchanted cow called Glaisín that used to regale herself at this well' (OSL, 243). In wet pasture, on a slight SE-facing slope. A slightly raised roughly circular area (26m N-S; 28m E-W) defined by an earthen bank (int. H 0.75m; ext. H 1m) SE-NE and by a faint scarp elsewhere. Several small breaks occur in the bank due to erosion by livestock. The interior is level. Indicated on the 1914 OS 6-inch map an embanked circular area, open to E. A holy well (SL035-099----) lies c. 10m to NE.
