Situated on a slight SE-facing slope in undulating pasture. Slightly raised circular area (diam. 32m) enclosed by a low broad bank of earth (Wth 6.4m; int. H 1m; ext. H 1.15m). There is no fosse visible at ground level. The bank has been incorporated into a NE-SW orientated field boundary bank NW-NE. A break (Wth. 2m) in the bank at NE marks the position of the original entrance. Compiled by: Patrick F. In pasture, located on the NE bank of a NNW-flowing stream or small river, known locally as the ‘Willsborogh River’. The stream flows in a deep vertical-sided gully (Wth c. 2m; D 1.8m) and appears to have been cannalised/deepened in the past. This burnt mound, most likely a levelled fulacht fia, consists of a barely discernible, grass-covered D-shaped mound (10-11m N−S; c. 8m E-W; H 0.3m), bordered on the straight SW side by the stream gully. It is composed of a concentration of angular, heat-shattered sandstone fragments in charcoal-rich soil. A telegraph pole stands on the E edge of the mound. Notified to NMS by the McDaniel family. Painted smooth-rendered walling to east block, unpainted roughcast with smooth-rendered bands to west block. Square-headed window openings, painted masonry sills, painted brick block-and-start jambs and flat arch painted timber casement windows c. 1970. Square-headed door opening, painted brick block-and-start jambs and flat arch, varnished vertically-sheeted timber double doors. Detached four-bay two-storey rendered house, built c. 1890. Single-storey gable-fronted porch projecting from east elevation, two-storey return to rear (west), single-storey flat-roofed extension c.1950 in north-west corner between front building and return. Pitched slate roof, clay ridge tiles, unpainted smooth-rendered chimneystacks, half-round cast-iron gutters on eaves corbel course. Painted smooth-rendered walling. Square-headed window openings, painted stone sills, painted two-over-two timber sash windows. Square-headed door opening to south elevation entrance porch, varnished timber framed door c. 1970 with two glazed panels.
