Situated on a low rise in undulating pasture close to the S shore of Sligo Bay. This site has been levelled. Remains comprise a slightly raised circular area (diam. 20m) defined by an artificial scarp (H 0.1m - 0.5m) except at SW where the defining element is a naturally-occurring rise which has been scarped (H 1.5m). At the upper edge of the scarp at SE are the remains of a low bank of earth and stone (Wth. 2m; int. H 0.2m - 0.4m). Elsewhere this has been levelled. No fosse. Original entrance not recognisable. Situated on a low rise in poor pasture. Raised circular platform (diam. 28m) atop a very high, steep-sided mound of earth and stone (H 5m). The platform is enclosed by a bank of earth and stone (Wth. 2m; int. H 0.55m - 0.9m). Between the outer foot of the bank and the edge of the platform is a narrow berm (Wth. 1.5m - 2.5m). At the foot of the mound is a fosse (Wth. 4m; D 1.1m) with a substantial outer bank (Wth. 6m; ext. H 1.7m). Fosse and outer bank have been levelled at S. Outer bank has been incorporated into a NE-SW field boundary from NNE-E-ESE. At SSE is a ramped causeway which extends from the wide entrance gap (Wth. 4m) across the fosse. The internal area slopes appreciably from W-E. Tradition of a souterrain at this site (see SL013-009002-). A short distance W is the remains of a disused field system (see SL013-009003-). There is a local tradition of a souterrain at Dunmoran rath (SL013-009001-). This was not precisely located. Compiled by: Patrick F. O'Donovan Date of upload: 19 January 2011 - SL013-009003: Field system, https://heritagedata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=0c9eb9575b544081b0d296436d8f60f8&query=18a4b61b268-layer-9%2CSMRS%2CSL013-009003-. Situated in proximity to Dunmoran rath (see SL013-009001-). The first feature is located a short distance SW of the rath. It comprises a small, naturally-occurring, wedge-shaped rise whose NE side has been faced with stones. Between the rath and this feature is a terrace (Wth. 4m) aligned roughly NW-SE which appears to mark the site of an old field boundary. The antiquity of these features is uncertain. A parcel is the land of a title, not an address. The owner's name is in the Land Registry of Tailte Éireann: a copy of the folio can be ordered on landdirect.ie, for a fee; this site names no owner. A price is the price recorded for a past sale, not a valuation.
