Situated on the SW edge of a low rise in poorly drained pasture. Raised circular area (23.3m E-W; 22.5m N-S) enclosed by an earthen bank (Wth 4-5m; int. H 0.3-0.6m; ext. H 1.8-2m), faced internally with stone at the W. At the outer foot of the bank is a fosse (Wth 2-2.5m) with an external bank (Wth 4-5.5m; int. H 1.6m; ext. H 1.3m). The inner bank is very low on its internal face and has been levelled at NE. The fosse is well defined except at E where it is evident only as a shallow depression. T he outer bank is best preserved on the W half of the rath but is low at E and has been truncated by an E–W field fence at S. The interior slopes down gently from SW to E. A sod-covered line of stones, on a NW–SE axis, traverses the interior to NE of centre. A gap (Wth 3m) in outer bank at E may mark the original entrance. Compiled by: Patrick F. Located in rough-average pasture, tending to be wet and poorly drained. Situated c. 45m NW of Farranmacfarrell House, a possible 17th-century house (SL018-096----). A wooded area is indicated at this location on the 1837 OS 6-inch map. A subcircular hachured enclosure is shown on the 1913 edition. Circular area (diam. 30m) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 2.8-3.4m; int. H 0.5m; ext. H 1.6m ,at W), largely levelled at NE–S, and enclosed at S–NW by a fosse (Wth 3m; ext. D 1m). Outside the fosse at NW there is a remnant of an earthen bank (Wth 3.5m; int. H 1.4m; ext. H 0.9m), with external stone facing. On the 1913 OS 6-inch map this is shown as part of a field boundary which curved around the enclosure at NW–N. Located on a slight rise in rough-average pasture, immediately to SE of a farmyard, and c. 30m S of 'Farranmacfarrell House', a possible 17th-century house (SL018-096----). Not marked on the 1837 OS 6-inch map. Depicted as a oval-shaped, hachured enclosure on the 1913 edition. Roughly oval area (diam. c. 25-30m) defined by remnants of a scarp. Outside the scarp (H 0.8m) at W there is a fosse or ditch (Wth 4.5m), the external face of which is vertical and faced with stone. This feature is shown on the 1913 OS 6-inch map as a field boundary curving around the enclosure at SW–N. Poorly preserved, with trees on perimeter at S and W. Situated in relatively level pasture. Stone-built house with high gables, two storeys with attic. An extension, probably later in date, extends the full length of the SSE wall. In the centre of the NNW wall at ground floor level is a semi-circular headed doorway flanked on either side by two large rectangular windows. There are five similar rectangular windows in the same wall at first floor level. There are two small rectangular windows at attic level in both the ENE and WSW gables. A chimney stack in the ENE gable may be a later addition. There are a number of small, squat windows in the extension.
