In pasture, located on a gentle SE-facing slope, c. 150m to S of the Cabragh River. Slighlty raised, circular area (diam. 23.5m E–W) defined on the W half by degraded remnants of an earthen bank (Wth 2.5m; int. H 0.5m; ext. H 0.65m at W) and on the E half by a low scarp (H 0.5m at W). The interior slopes down slightly to E. Located on a slight elevation of dry ground in generally lowlying, damp pasture, c. 140m SW of the Leaffony River. Raised circular area (diam. 24m NW–SE) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 2.6m at N, 3.3m at SE; int. H 0.6m at N, 1.1m at SE; ext. H 1.5m at N, 1.4m at SE). The external face of the bank is steep, almost vertical, and incorporates large stones in parts, suggesting that the bank has been modified in the relatively recent past. At N there is a narrow eroded break (c. 0.5m), adjacent to a section of bank which is low and incorporates large stones. This may mark a blocked up entrance feature. In level, lowlying pasture. Indicated on the 1837 OS 6-inch map as a circular enclosure, bisected to S of centre by an E–W field boundary and clipped on the perimeter at SE by another field boundary, on a NE–SW axis. The faint outline of a circular area (diam. 20-25m) can be discerned cut on the SE side by a field fence on a NE–SW axis. There is a mound of field clearance at its E side. In pasture, located on a slight E-facing slope, c. 300m SW of the Leaffony River. Very slightly raised, oval area (48m N–S; c. 59.5m E–W) defined by remnants of a partly levelled earthen bank (Wth 1.8m; int. H 0.2m; ext. H 0.4m, at N), truncated at S–SW by an E–W field fence. Another field fence on a NE–SW axis cuts the E–SE edge of the enclosure. Large stones protrude from the bank, some of which, at NW in particular, may be the remnants of stone facing. The interior has a slight slope down from W to E, and the E half appears to be built up somewhat to compensate for this natural slope. In the SE quadrant there is an oblong hollow or pit (max. dim. 8-10m) encircled by a raised rim or bank (W c. 3m; int. H 0.8m; ext. H 0.3m) of earth and stones. This appears to be the result of quarrying. There is a souterrain (SL011-135----) 40m to N, and another rath (SL011-085----) located c. 270m to ENE. In pasture, immediately to N of a fragment of E–W field fence, and 40m N of a possible rath (SL011-134----). The exposed remnants of the souterrain consist of an oval chamber (2.3m N–S; 1.7m E–W; H 1.1m) of drystone construction. The walls, of large irregular or rounded boulders, are roughly corbelled to support a roof of stone lintels, only one of which remains in situ. One displaced lintel is embedded in the floor of the chamber and others may have been removed. There is a possible ventilation shaft (Wth 0.25m; H 0.23m) in the wall at E. A break in the wall on the S side gives access to the chamber. According to the landowner, there is also a stone-built tunnel, now covered over, close to the chamber. Situated on a gentle SE-facing slope of a low ridge in poorly-drained pasture. Raised circular area (diam. 25m) enclosed by an earthen bank (Wth 4.2m; int. H 0.7m; ext. H 1.5m) which has been levelled at NE-E. At N the outer face of the bank has been partly incorporated into a modern field boundary. At S-W at a distance of 3m from the rath there is a substantial field bank which respects the curve of the rath. It may preserve the line of an original fosse and outer bank. Compiled by: Patrick F. In a rath (SL017-002001-). According to local information, a souterrain which was covered by a large flat stone was discovered in the rath interior. It was covered over again. Situated on a low rise, in the SW corner of a field, used as a vegetable garden at the time of inspection, adjacent to a modern house. Not marked on the 1837 OS 6-inch map; shown on the 1913 edition as a semi-circular hachured area (diam. c. 27m NW–SE; c. 17m NE–SW) curving W–SE, and truncated at W by a field boundary on a NW–SE axis. There is no trace of the enclosure at ground level but the access hole to a drystone-built souterrain (SL017-009002-) remains. This is almost certainly the site of a levelled rath.
