In pasture, on a gentle NE-facing slope. A circular area (18m NE-SW; 20m NW-SE) defined by a degraded stony bank (Wth 1m; int. H 0.2m; ext. H 0.3m at SW, 0.5m at NE) with an external fosse (Wth 3.5m). The bank is little more than a slight rise from which stone protrudes randomly. The fosse is shallow but clearly defined S-NW where it is cut into rising ground but elsewhere is a barely perceptible surface depression. The SW half of the interior slopes gently down to NE levelling out in the NE half. Traces of a levelled field boundary are visible extending to SE from the bank at S. In pasture, on top of a ridge with excellent views of the surrounding undulating terrain. A raised roughly oval area (c. 37.5m NE-SW; c. 30m NW-SE) defined ESE-NE by a scarp (H 1.7m ) with an external fosse (Wth c. 5.5m). A possible outer bank is evident S-WSW as a barely discernible flat-topped rise (Wth c. 3m). The outer edge of the fosse W-NW is incorporated into a field boundary (Wth 1.3m; ext. H 0.8m). At NE-E there is a broad causeway (Wth 11m) across the fosse and the interior is flush with the exterior ground level. This is the result of recent modification of the rath but may mask the original entrance. The fosse appears greatly expanded (Wth 8-9m) at SE and NW due to the quarrying of part of the interior platform. A possible rath (SL026-142002-) lies immediately to N. Indicated on the 1838 OS 6-inch map as an embanked circular area (diam. c. 20m) abutting the N side of the rath (SL026-142001-). Little remains of this enclosure apart from a flat roughly rectangular area (18m N-S; 15m E-W) bordered by a field boundary on the S side and enclosed on W, N and E sides by a deep trench (Wth 10m; D 1.4m).
