On a poorly drained E-facing slope of rising ground in an upland area with good views from the N-E-S. This monument, identified from an aerial photograph (GSI, R. 360/59; 16/04/74), was heavily overgrown with reeds at the time of inspection. The monument consists of a low sunken circular area (diam. 11.5m; ext. D 0.1m) with traces of a second bank (Wth 2m; ext. H 0.3m) only visible at the SE. On high ground in 19th-century forestry plantation near the edge of a ravine overlooking a river valley to the E. The poorly preserved remains of a possible hut site consist of the low wall-footings of a rectangular structure (int. dims. 4.9m N-S ; 2.8m E-W) orientated N-S, with no entrance feature visible. This may be the remains of a house associated with booleying in this upland region. In wet poorly drained pasture, in an upland area with good views in all directions. A classic horseshoe-shaped mound of burnt material (H 0.5m; dims. 12.2m N-S; 11.6m E-W) with a shallow depression (dims. 2.8m N-S; 5.3m; E-W; D 0.3m) in the E face indicating a possible trough area. There is a natural spring immediately to the E of the trough area. Since the 2006 inspection the mound has been levelled. Fire-cracked stones are spread over the surface area.
