Located in a low, marshy area adjacent to the Nenagh River which flows along the N side of the site in a NE-SW direction. A poorly preserved site which is badly damaged at W and NW. The S and E sides are best preserved. The interior (dims. c. 17.5m) which is heavily overgrown with scrub, is enclosed by an earth and stone bank (Wth 1.3m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 0.95m) with evidence of external stone revetment. Many of the features noted by Barry (1977, 195) are no longer apparent, such as the leat at the NW angle (connecting the fosse with the river), the fosse itself (Wth 8m) and its pronounced raised corners.
