- TN020-133001: Burnt pit, https://heritagedata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=0c9eb9575b544081b0d296436d8f60f8&query=18a4b61b268-layer-9%2CSMRS%2CTN020-133001-. Uncovered during the monioring of topsoil-stripping immediately N of the Nenagh bypass. Twelve pits were uncovered, 'these pits were mostly positioned some distance away from each other, although one cut through an earlier pit and several had small post-holes/stake-holes cutting through their base. They varied in size from 0.42m x 0.3m x 0.15m to 1m x 1.4m x 0.6m. They were generally filled with black, greasy clay and burnt, red clay - in some cases the surrounding subsoil had also been fired. Charred timber, a few pieces of burnt bone, hazelnut shells and some metal slag were recovered from some of the pits. Although nothing datable was recovered, it is likely that the finds form an integral part of the Bronze Age activity to the east of the site' (McConway 2000a, 189). Situated on high ground, immediately N of the Nenagh Bypass. Uncovered during the monitoring of topsoil stripping. A circular setting of post-holes (int. diam. 3.8m) with an internal beaten clay floor, associated with numerous stake-holes and small pits, some filled with charcoal-rich soil and burnt red clay (McConway 2000a, 189). Finds included pottery, chert scrapers, burnt bone and slag (ibid.). The excavator suggests a Bronze Age date for the site (ibid.). Compiled by: Caimin O'Brien. Date of upload: 22 September 2008

Uncovered during the monitoring of topsoil-stripping immediately N of the Nenagh bypass. 'They varied in size from 0.2m diameter to 0.8m x 0.5m and had a maximum depth of 0.4m. They were filled with a mix of charcoal-rich soil and burnt, red clay, and almost all produced metal slag' (McConway 2000a, 189). The excavator concluded that the proximity and similarity to the other collection pits in the townland (TN020-122001) suggests a possible Bronze Age date for these features (ibid.).
