H c. 0.5m), reduced to scarp (H 0.5m) in places. Interior inaccessible due to overgrowth. On flat ground at break of fairly steep SE-facing slope, ground falls beyond break of slope to NE-E-S. The church was located roughly N of centre within a graveyard (TS067-044001-). The church is not visible at ground level. It is located in an area of very rough grazing which has been largely fenced off and was used in the past for dumping manure, mounds of soil (H c. 0.7m; average Wth c. 3.5m) with stones and some building rubble, including a concrete pier. According to local information a section of ivy-covered wall (H c. 2.5m) had been standing up to c. 25-30 years ago. The C of I church at Bansha, which replaced a medieval church (TS067-064----), is visible 1km to the SSE. On flat ground at break of fairly steep SE facing slope, ground falls beyond break of slope to NE-E-S. The graveyard is depicted on the 1st (1840-41) ed. OS 6-inch map as a roughly rectangular enclosure (dims. 43-56m N-S; 40-46m E-W) which had a shorter S wall, with the E and W walls splaying outwards towards a longer N wall. There is no visible trace above ground of the church (TS067-044----) which was located roughly N of centre in the graveyard. The graveyard is now an area of very rough grazing which has been largely fenced off and the area where the church was located has been used in the past for dumping manure, mounds of soil (H c. 0.7m; average Wth c. 3.5m) with stones and some building rubble, including a concrete pier. Detached L-plan three-bay three-storey over basement house, built c. 1760, with two-storey lean-to addition to angle at rear. Hipped slate roof with rendered chimneystacks having terracotta pots, and overhanging eaves. Roughcast lime rendered walls. Square-headed window openings throughout with timber sliding sash windows. Six-over-six pane to second floor and some double two-over-four pane windows to basement. Openings enlarged to ground and first floors with the insertion of margined one-over-pane windows. Round-headed margined one-over-one pane window to first floor of north-east elevation. Replacement uPVC windows to addition. Round-headed main door opening with double-leaf timber panelled door having spoked timber fanlight above. Square-headed door openings to addition, with replacement door to ground floor and timber battened door to basement. Cobbled yard at rear entered through decorative wrought-iron gates to dressed limestone piers and having single-storey outbuilding with hipped slate roof and rubble sandstone walls, battened timber doors and steel small-pane fixed window.
