Situated on top of high ground with extensive views. A large circular area (diam. 50m E-W) enclosed by an earth and stone bank (Wth 1.5m; int. H 1m; ext. H 1.5m) which has been widened, most visibly at NNW (Wth 6m) and faced externally with a drystone wall. There is an entrance gap (Wth 4.5m) at E. Two nineteenth-century farmhouses are attached to the enclosing bank at NNW and are probably contemporary with the widening of the original bank. The ringfort was reused as a garden feature in the nineteenth century. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). Situated on high ground in an upland area with extensive views. A circular area (diam. 50m N-S; 48m E-W) enclosed by an earth and stone bank (Wth 3m; ext. H 0.8m; int. Loosely piled rubble on top of the bank is probably a result of field clearance activity. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. A parcel is the land of a title, not an address. The owner's name is in the Land Registry of Tailte Éireann: a copy of the folio can be ordered on landdirect.ie, for a fee; this site names no owner. A price is the price recorded for a past sale, not a valuation.
