Area of scarp (dims. 13m N-S; 8m E-W) removed to W of limekiln. Breach (dims. 3.5m N-S; 6m E-W) in scarp at NNW is location of former limekiln depicted on 1843 OS 6-inch map. External fosse (basal Wth 1.5-2m; overall Wth 7-8m) SSW-W-NNE is shallow (D 0.4m) at W and deep (D 1.2m) at NW. Fosse disturbed in area of limekiln at SSW. Causewayed entrance (Wth 3.5m) at N. Interior tends downslope sharply to SW and contains remains of semi-circular area (dims 7.3m NE-SW; 10m NW-SE) defined by shallow fosse (Wth 4.5m; D 0.15m) SW-N and truncated by bohereen to ENE. Generally level area/berm (Wth 5m) outside intervening fosse and slight trace of a wider circular area (overall dims. 50m N-S; 52m E-W) defined by an outer fosse (Wth 11m; D 0.15m). In flat pasture, sloping very slightly to W. Donaghmore church (TS077-027----) clearly visible on crest of ridge to S. Ringfort (TS077-004----) visible c. 200m to S. Roughly square area (dims. 40m N-S; 37.7m E-W) enclosed by a bank which has been augmented by later field boundary (H above int. 0.65m; H above ext. 2.1m) and wide, flat-bottomed waterlogged fosse (Wth 3.2m; D 1.3m) with steep counterscarp. External face of N bank is very steep, truncated by cattle. Scrub growing on top of bank. Towards the N bank in the interior there is a low earthen mound (diam. 4.8m N-S; 5.2m E-W; H 0.4m). The E side of the monument is badly eroded, fosse no longer visible, it has been built up to form a laneway through the moated site, the former bank is just visible as a slight rise. The W side is intact, bank heavily overgrown and fosse waterlogged. Small area of quarrying into bank and interior along this side. S side there is some stone evident in bank construction, the counterscarp is augmented by a field boundary. Two cattle feeders are located in the NE quadrant on the slight rise formerly the E bank, resulting in further poaching in the interior. Roughly circular area (diam. 38.4m N-S; 40m E-W) defined by low bank (Wth 2.1m crest, 4.2m base; int. H 0.3m; ext. H 1m) and wide fosse (Wth 1.9m; H above counterscarp 1.9m). Field boundary runs E-W dividing the interior. The E side of the ringfort is bounded by a field bank, which may have truncated this side slightly. Gap broken through bank in S quadrant and gate inserted.
