According to landowner the well had been filled in by previous landowners. It may have been at the small pool at the N end of the stream. On a SW-facing slope of long, roughly N-S running ridge, with forestry planted along top of ridge. Monument surrounded by pasture. Oval area (diam. 33.7m E-W; N-S not obtainable) enclosed by broad, high, earthen and stone bank (Wth 3.3m crest; int. H 1.08m; ext. H 1.63-2.29m). Scrub growing around bank and in SW quadrant. The interior, sloping to SW, is grass and nettle filled. The bank is very high above the exterior, particularly upslope to NE. A field bank, with a lot of small boulders, runs NW-SE c. 10m NE of ringfort and terminates directly E of monument. There is no visible external fosse. The bank is reduced to scarp in the SE-SW-NW quadrant. Limited dumping of stones against external face of bank in the SW quadrant. A portion of bank in the WNW sector has slipped towards the exterior. Ground level in the interior is quite disturbed, the result of small scale quarrying, with small hollow in SE quadrant with upcast to NE and SE. On a steep SW-facing slope in coniferous forest. Field boundaries have altered since 2nd (1906) ed. OS 6-inch map, with forest roads constructed, one c. 30m to W and another immediately E of ringfort. Monument completely surrounded by coniferous plantation. Ringfort is heavily overgrown with scrub, dead wood, ivy and brambles and is difficult to assess. Low enclosing bank (Wth 1.2m crest, 2.5m base; int. H 0.42m; ext. H 0.65m) visible in NW and E quadrants. A portion of bank visible on the downslope SW quadrant is higher (1.4m above ext.). In flat terrain at base of long N-S running ridge which slopes down to WSW, in pasture. Long, shallow pond with low trees growing around it is located immediately E of mound. Low, roughly circular flat-topped grass-covered mound (top diam. 15.7m N-S; 15.1m E-W; overall diam. 27.4m N-S; 28.2m E-W) defined by shallow scarp (H 0.96m; Wth 5.2m), less clearly defined in the E quadrant where the mound gradually slopes down towards the adjacent pond. Trace of external fosse (Wth 3.6m; D 0.27m) from S-W-NW.
