Situated just below the summit of a hill on a N-facing slope. Depicted on the 1st ed. OS 6-inch map as a large circular enclosure with no evidence of any woodland planted inside the enclosure. A large circular area (diam. 100m N-S) enclosed by an earth and stone bank (Wth 2.5m; int. H 1m; ext. H 0.3m) with slight traces of a shallow external fosse. No evidence of an entrance feature. Dense vegetation cover made detailed examination of the site difficult. Described as an area of woodland enclosed by a modern bank of no archaeological significance (OPW file, 1957). Site identified, post inventory fieldwork, by Eamon Cody and Paul Walsh (pers. comm.). Unable to locate any enclosure in area marked on latest ed.
