External fosse (Wth 7.75m; D 1.05m) along SE and SW sides, infilled at S-corner. Interior tilts downslope to S. Enclosure truncated (long axis N-S) through centre and an undulating scarp (Wth 18m; H 1.8m) forms the E side. Modification of E-side possibly due to quarrying activities. According to local information, wooden remains of a watermill adjacent to the stream were recovered during drainage works in 1960s. Pond at this location before it was drained and stream straightened, leaving undulating fields in floodplain either side. Lucas (1962) recorded the structure as a horizontal water mill chute during a subsequent NMI field inspection. Intervening bank (Wth 12m; int. H 1.85m; ext H. 1.15m) E-S-SW and the remains slightly visible NW-N-E. Outer fosse (Wth 8m; D 0.8m) E-S-SW is infilled SW-W-N-E. Trace of outer bank (Wth 8.9m; int. Bank (L 24m at N; L 33m at E; L 29m at S; L 30m at W) is reduced to scarp (Wth 4.5m; H 1.0m) midway along W-side. Possible entrance (Wth 2.5-3m) at S. External fosse (Wth 6m; D 0.45m) is well defined on E, S and W sides, infilled slightly to N due to past quarrying activities. Traces of outer bank (Wth 13.3m; int. H 0.7m; ext.
