Situated on the W-facing slope of the highest hill in the immediate area. Depicted as a roughly circular area surmounted by trees on the 1st ed. (1843) OS 6-inch map and as a hachured enclosure on the 1903 ed. The site has been levelled but is still visible as a slight rise (diam. 39m N-S; 32m E-W) with remains of a bank and a slight outer fosse. The W side had been built-up to provide a level platform (ext. H 0.94m). The site was dismissed as a tree-ring when inspected in the 1960s when it was described as having a 'slight bank and fosse' (OPW file, 1967). The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Situated on a S-facing slope in rolling pastureland. A large, roughly circular enclosure depicted on the 1st and current eds. of the OS 6-inch maps. Although levelled, a slight curving rise indicates the former bank of a circular area at N (overall diam. c. 50m). A curving hedgerow in the SW quadrant appears to respect the site or conversely could have incorporated part of an outer bank. A trackway now runs between the site and this hedgerow. The interior slopes to the S. The site was identified as a ringfort when it was still upstanding in the late 1950s (OPW Correspondence, 9.9.1958) and the outline of the site is visible on an aerial photograph taken in 1973 (GSIAP, R 92/1). The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). Located on a SE-facing slope in rolling pastureland. Depicted as a circular enclosure on the 1st and current eds. of the OS 6-inch map. According to the landowner the site was levelled c. 30 years ago and a silage pit now stands on the site. No remains visible at ground level. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). Situated on ground sloping gradually to the SE in a sheltered area with a small hillock immediately to the NW and rising ground to the NE and SW. Depicted as a circular enclosure on the 1st and current eds. of the OS 6-inch map. The site appears as a cropmark on an aerial photograph taken in 1973 (GSIAP, R 92/91). Remains of the fosse are discernible in the SE quadrant as a slight dip where the grass is greener and nettles are more abundant. No other remains visible at ground level. Situated on a S-facing slope in undulating pastureland. Depicted as a large irregular-shaped enclosure on the 1st ed. and current OS 6-inch maps and as a roughly oval cropmark on an aerial photograph taken in 1973 (GSIAP, R 92/91). The outline of a large enclosure (diam. 53m N-S; 66m E-W) defined by the remains of a poorly preserved bank (Wth 1.58-6.9m; int. H 0.26m; ext. H 0.44) are barely visible.
