An early eighteenth-century, five-bay, two-storey with attic over basement house (ext. dims. 16.36m x .65m; W wall T 0.65m) with a projecting T (ext. dims. 8.85m x 6.54m) to the rear. The main entrance, with steps up to it, is centrally placed in the W façade. It has a Gibbsian surround with scrolls supporting a pediment. The attic storey is pedimented and bears an inscription 'RMF' which refers to Richard and Maria Faulkner and is dated 1720. It is described by Craig (1972, 50, 52) as 'an open-bed pediment, with round-headed window in the centre, flanked by paterae and a blind balustrade in the attic, surmounted by a cornice with balls at the ends and on the pediment. The pediment is emphasised by volutes at either side. Unfortunately the house was rendered in the nineteenth century, when stucco cornices were added to the windows, and a pediment to the central first-floor window'. The house is single pile and the main block is divided into three, with a central staircase and room to either side; there is another room to the rear in the projecting T. In the rear, E wall of the T-projection there are remains of two moulded string-courses, the lower is forming the lintel of a first-floor window while the upper section is c. 1m above this between the first and second floor. Most of the windows at the rear have been altered. There is a well-built courtyard (TN010-111001) to the rear enclosed by a high stone wall. Detached T-plan five-bay two-storey house with basement, built 1720, having dormer attic and three-bay three-storey with attic return, and single and two-storey additions. Pitched slate main roof and mono-pitch additions, having cut-stone chimneystacks. Ornamented limestone ashlar pediment with marigold paterae and incised date and initials of builder. Partly balustraded parapet having cut-stone cornices and ball finials. Front façade rendered in nineteenth century with quoins and hood-moulding to windows added. Remainder of walls have lime render. Six-over-six pane timber sliding sash windows with limestone sills, having three-over-three pane round-headed window to pediment, some four-over-eight timber sash windows to return, small-pane casements to gables and to lower floors of return and additions, with some pivoted round windows and some replacement uPVC windows also to return. Cut-stone Gibbsian door surround to front entrance with limestone steps over basement, timber panelled door and margined overlight. Partly rendered limestone wall attached to north gable of house, screening farmyard and has castellations, turret, decorative gable to outbuilding and pointed doorway. Farmyard has single and two-storey stone outbuildings, one having slate roof, and rear screen wall with castellated round-arch gateway.
