- WA029-043: Ringfort - rath, https://heritagedata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=0c9eb9575b544081b0d296436d8f60f8&query=18a4b61b268-layer-9%2CSMRS%2CWA029-043----. Situated in a low-lying, level landscape. This is a raised circular, overgrown area (diam. 30.5m E-W) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 8.5-9.5m; int. H 1m; ext. H 2.4-2.6m) and a flat-bottomed fosse (Wth of top 8.5-11m; Wth of base 4-5m; D 0.6-1m). An outer bank (Wth 3-4m; ext. H 0.7m) survives SSE-WSW, but there is no visible entrance. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Waterford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). According to Power (1905, 123) an ancient road running between Lismore and Ardmore crossed the N-S River Blackwater at a ford (WA029-012----), which brought it to Affane (WA029-013----). From here a branch (WA029-014----) extended E (L c. 3.5m) towards Whitechurch along public and private roads, but it disappears c. 1km from the E-W River Finisk (ibid. 123-4). However, a short section (L c. 100m) survives as a lane leading to the river (WA030-011----). From Whitechurch the route turned S on the public road to Knocknaskagh cross-roads (L c. 1.1km), from where farm roads took it through Knocknaskagh and Keereen townlands (L c. 1.9km) to a minor road in Keereen Upper. From here the route runs SW past the moated site (WA029-052----) (L c. 800m ) and on to Curraheen townland (L c. 1km). From here farm lanes continued the route through Curraheen, Ballycullane, and Graigue, to Goish Bridge (L c. 2.5 km) (ibid. 124). From Goish bridge it is continued S to Ballinure (L c. 2km), with some interuptions, by farm lanes running parallel with the N-S Youghal to Clonmel Road (R671) and c. 200m to the E . From Ballinure it turns SE along public roads almost as far as the E-W Lickey River (L c. 4km), the last 300m or so by way of a lane (ibid. 124-5). From this point onwards it is associated with St. Declan, and on the S side of the Lickey a forest track (L c. 380) leads SE from where a series of farm tracks continues it SSE (L c. 1.8 km) to the NE-SW N25 Dungarvan to Cork road, at a point c. 480m NE of Grange church (WA038-026001-). From this point the road cannot be traced (L c. 1.7 km), but it resumes in Ballynamertinagh (WA038-036----) (ibid. 125). Power, Rev. P. Two-arch rubble limestone road bridge over river, c.1810. Random rubble limestone walls with lime mortar, rubble stone cut-waters to pier, and rubble stone vertical coping to parapets. Pair of segmental arches with squared rubble limestone voussoirs, and squared rubble limestone soffits having traces of render over. Sited spanning Ballynaparka River with grass banks to river.
- Catholic Church of Our Lady of the Assumption, church/chapel, 1855–1860, Regional interest, registry number 22820002, https://www.buildingsofireland.ie/niah/search.jsp?type=record&county=WA&regno=22820002. Detached four-bay double-height Catholic church, dated 1856, with single-bay double-height chancel to north-east. Extended, c.1955, comprising single-bay single-storey flat-roofed sacristy to east. Part refenestrated, pre-1999. Pitched slate roof with clay ridge tiles, rendered coping having cross finial to apex to south-west, rendered gabled bellcote to apex to north-east having cross finial over, and cast-iron rainwater goods on rendered eaves having wrought iron brackets. Flat felt roof to sacristy with cast-iron rainwater goods on timber eaves. Painted roughcast walls with cut-stone date stone/plaque. Pointed-arch window openings to nave with rendered sills, and chamfered surrounds. Replacement fixed-pane uPVC windows, pre-1999, with casement sections. Trefoil-headed window opening over entrance to south-west in pointed-arch frame with rendered sill, chamfered surround, and fixed-pane leaded stained glass window. Pointed-arch window opening to chancel with rendered sill, chamfered surround, cut-limestone mullions and tracery forming tripartite trefoil-headed arrangement with quatrefoils and hexafoil to arch, and fixed-pane leaded stained glass windows. Four-centre-headed door opening with rendered chamfered reveal, and replacement tongue-and-groove timber panelled double doors, pre-1999. Full-height interior with carved timber pews, polished marble communion railing, and decorative Gothic-style reredos. Set back from road in own grounds.(ii) Graveyard to site with various cut-stone grave markers, c.1855 – present.(iii) Gateway, 1856, to west comprising pair of painted rendered piers with rendered profiled capping, decorative cast-iron double gates with Fleur-de-Lys and cross finials, and painted roughcast boundary wall to perimeter of site having painted rendered coping.

Detached four-bay single-storey thatched cottage, c.1850, possibly originally three-bay single-storey on an L-shaped plan retaining early fenestration with two-bay single-storey return to north-east. Part reroofed, c.1950. Hipped and pitched roof with reed and straw thatch in English style having rope work to ridge, and rendered chimney stacks. Pitched roof to return with painted replacement corrugated-iron, c.1950, iron ridge tiles, and square rooflight. Painted roughcast wall to front (south-west) elevation with slight batter, and painted rendered walls to remainder. Square-headed window openings with stone sills, rendered surrounds, and 1/1 timber sash windows. Square-headed door opening with rendered surround, and replacement glazed tongue-and-groove timber panelled door, c.1975. Set back from line of road with unpainted rendered boundary wall to front.

Road fronted with concrete flagged footpath to front.

Detached three- or five-bay (three-bay deep) two-storey over basement country house, extant 1814, on a rectangular plan with single- or two-bay two-storey bows centred on single-bay single-storey flat-roofed projecting porch to ground floor; three-bay full-height rear (east) elevation. Occupied, 1901; 1911. Hipped slate roof on a quadrangular plan with ridge tiles, paired rendered central chimney stacks having paired stringcourses below capping supporting terracotta pots, and cast-iron rainwater goods on slightly overhanging rendered eaves on moulded rendered cornice retaining cast-iron downpipes. Virginia creeper-covered rendered, ruled and lined walls. Segmental-headed window opening in tripartite arrangement (porch) with cut-limestone sill, timber mullions supporting timber transom, and concealed dressings framing fixed-pane timber window having sidelights below fanlight. Round-headed opposing door openings ("cheeks") with cut-limestone step thresholds, and moulded rendered archivolts framing timber panelled doors having fanlights. Hipped segmental-headed door opening into country house with timber panelled double doors having margined sidelights below fanlight. Square-headed central window opening in tripartite arrangement (first floor) with cut-limestone sills, timber mullions, and concealed dressings framing six-over-six timber sash window having two-over-two sidelights. Square-headed window openings with cut-limestone sills, and concealed dressings framing nine-over-six (ground floor) or six-over-six (first floor) timber sash windows. Square-headed window openings (side elevations) with cut-limestone sills, and concealed dressings framing nine-over-six (ground floor) or six-over-six (first floor) timber sash windows.
