Situated on grassland. The field fence running NW-SE which forms the townland boundary with Doonis lies 5m to W. Not depicted as an antiquity on any edition of the OS 6-inch map. Depicted as a tree-plantation on the 1837 ed. OS 6-inch map. Remains consist of a circular-shaped area (approx. diam. 32m NW-SE) enclosed by a substantial earthen bank and a slight external fosse. The bank has been reduced to a scarp from N-E-S. A possible outer bank and fosse at SE appear to be later features. This site appears to have been used as a tree ring in the post-1700 period as depicted on the 1838 ed. OS 6-inch map. The area around the monument has been disturbed by quarrying. Situated on the top of a prominent natural rise in gently undulating grassland, with good views in all directions. Depicted on the 1837 OS Fair Plan map as an oval-shaped enclosure (approx. diam. 40m) with a field bank on the N and trees on the perimeter, annotated as ‘fort’. The curving field fence from N-E-S follows the line of the perimeter of the ringfort, elsewhere the enclosing element has been levelled to a slight scarp. There are traces of a slight fosse visible at N. The interior slopes slightly from W-E. Not depicted as an antiquity on any edition of the OS 6-inch map. Recorded on the 25-inch OS map. Located some 66m NE of a ringfort (WM015-017----). May also be a tree ring associated with Littletown House (in ruins) or Lodge (demolished)? Northern third of the feature is bisected by the the line of a field boundary (no longer extant – removed sometime before the 25-inch OS map) running ENE/WSW. Possibly an earlier earthwork reused as a tree-ring in the post-1700 period. Detached three-bay two-storey former Royal Irish Constabulary Barracks, built c.1875, with central gable-fronted porch with pierced bargeboards to front (northeast) and a single-storey lean-to extension and a complex of single-storey outbuildings to rear (southwest). Now out of use. Hipped natural slate roof clay ridge tiles, cast-iron rainwater goods and two central rendered chimneystacks with moulding cornices and clay chimney pots over. Rendered walls with two-over-two pane timber sliding sash windows. Iron security bars to ground floor openings. Round-headed doorcase with timber panelled door and plain fanlight over to central porch.
