The site was recorded in 1981 as 'There are no indications of a road or track running on the ground. The area indicated is a line of field fences, these also form a townland boundary. It is possible that there was formerly a trackway there. A visit in Autumn when the vegetation is lower might reveal some surviving indications of a track' (SMR file 1981). Ringfort (WM008-051----) 190m to SW. A raised circular shaped area (diam. 39m N-S; 35m E-W) enclosed by a well preserved earthen bank (max H 2m) and external fosse. The bank is best preserved from NW-NNE & ESE-S, elsewhere it has been levelled. The field fence which forms the townland boundary with Ranaghan skirts the site on the W, and intersects the monument at SW. There are traces of cultivation ridges running WSW-ENE across the interior of the monument. Cement rendered walls over chamfered ashlar limestone plinth. Clasping buttresses to corners and flanking doorcase to entrance gable (south) with ashlar trim. Flush ashlar limestone string course to entrance gable and ashlar kneeler stones to gable ends of eaves. Pointed-arched window openings to nave and transepts having stained glass windows, chamfered ashlar limestone surrounds with hoodmouldings over. Three graded lancets to entrance front (south) having chamfered ashlar surrounds with hoodmouldings over, round window opening above to gable. Paired lancets to east and west sides of chancel. Pointed-arched doorcase to centre of entrance gable (south) with chamfered ashlar limestone surround and timber double doors. Doorcase flanked by pointed-arched windows to either side (east and west). Pointed-arched doorcase to south faces of transepts.
