The interior rises towards the centre where a rectangular house site (WM009-019001-) is visible. Possible causewayed entrance gap (Wth 2.3m) at W. Traces of cultivation ridges run across the interior of the monument from WSW-ESE. Situated on a natural hillock in gently undulating grassland, with good views to NW & S. Ringfort (WM009-022----) 130m to SSW. The road which marks the townland boundary with Ballinlough is 90m to S. A raised sub-circular shaped area (approx. diam. 44m N-S) enclosed by a low earth and stone bank with slight remains of an external fosse. The bank has been disturbed in places. The interior is uneven, and rises towards the centre. There are three roughly circular depressions inside the bank on the N side. A rectangular house (WM009-021001-) is visible in the SW quadrant. The road which marks the townland boundary with Ballinlough is 90m to S. The grass-covered wall footings of a rectangular house site (approx. int. dims. 5.4m N-S 13.4m E-W) with entrance gap at NNE (Wth 1.5m) is visible in the SW quadrant of a ringfort (WM009-021---). Possible second opposing entrance gap at SSW. A low bank extends N from the E end of the house site. Situated on gently rising ground in a sheltered location. Human remains were discovered at this location during land reclamation works in 1992 in an area measuring 30m N-S by 70m E-W. A field report from that time reported that ‘no articulated skeletons were noted but the remains were definitely human. The burials were close to the surface’ (ASI Field Report).
