The bank has been levelled at SSE and from S-W. The fosse is deep from NW-NW. Traces of cultivation ridges are visible running NE-SW across the interior, which slopes gently from NNW-SSE. Situated on E facing slope of rising ground in grassland, with good views to the NE and SE. Ringfort (WM012-125---) 125m to NE. A large sub-circular shaped area (approx. diam. 42m N-S; 37m E-W) enclosed by two earthen banks and an intervening fosse. The inner bank is substantial, and has several gaps. The fosse appears to have been steepened in places where it has been incorporated into field fences, and the outer bank is low. There is an entrance gap (Wth 2.5m) and slight causeway across the fosse at E. Traces of cultivation ridges are visible in the interior, which slopes from W-E. A field fence running N-S intersects the W side of the monument, and a field fence running E-W intersects the S side of the monument. See attached profile of monument surveyed and drawn by the ASI. A slightly raised circular shaped area (approx. diam. 24m NW-SE; 25m NE-SW) enclosed by a low earth and stone bank and a slight external fosse. The bank is best preserved along the W side of the site, and elsewhere it is fragmentary and reduced to a scarp in places. Stone facing is visible at E, W and NW. The external fosse is best preserved from ESE-W-WNW. There is an entrance gap (Wth 2m) and causeway across the fosse at ESE. Ringfort (WM012-130---) 260m to NW. A raised circular-shaped area (approx. diam. 42m E-W) enclosed by a well preserved earthen bank and deep external fosse. The bank is best preserved in the SE quadrant, and the fosse appears to have been deepened. There is an entrance gap (Wth 2.6m) and causeway across the fosse (Wth 5.4m; H 1m) at SSE. Traces of cultivation ridges are visible running ENE-WSW across the interior, which has a general slope from NW-SE. Field fences running NE-SW intersect the monument at NE and SW. The site is now enclosed by a modern forestry plantation which is visible on Digital Globe aerial photograph taken November 2011. Monument placed on the Register of Historic Monuments in 1989. Freestanding three-bay double-height Roman Catholic church with adjoining single-bay three-storey parochial house to southwest end, built c.1844. Two-storey extension to southwest corner (rear) at right angle to parochial house with hipped slate roof and tall rendered chimneystack, c.1880. Two-bay single-storey entrance porch giving access to church on east facade and single-bay single-storey entrance porch to centre of south, giving access to parochial house. Modern single-bay single-storey porch to north end of east façade (church). Pitched artificial slate roof with overhanging eaves and a single rendered chimneystack to south end (over parochial house) and a wrought-iron cross finial to north end. Roughcast rendered walls with rendered eaves course and raised rendered quoins to corners. Pointed-arched openings with stained glass to church, square-headed openings with timber casement windows and cut stone sills to parochial house. One-over-one pane timber sliding sash windows to two-storey extension of parochial house (southwest). Pointed-arched openings to entrance porches to church and square-headed openings to porch serving parochial house. Cut stone plaque to east face of church reads 'Dedicated 1844, A McAlroy, Pastore'. Decorative cast-iron belfry to north of church and range of single-storey rubble limestone outbuildings to west. Rubble stone boundary wall with metal railings over to road frontage (east).
