- WX034-030: Ringfort - rath, https://heritagedata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=0c9eb9575b544081b0d296436d8f60f8&query=18a4b61b268-layer-9%2CSMRS%2CWX034-030----. Situated at the summit of the E end of an E-W ridge. This is a circular grass-covered area (diam. 36m N-S; 33m E-W) defined by a degraded earthen bank (Wth 1.5-2.3m; int. H 0.3-0.8m; ext. H 0.4-0.8m) with internal and external stone-facing. There is no visible fosse and the entrance cannot be determined. A field bank circumvents the perimeter ESE-WSW at distance of 5m. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). Situated on the lower NW-facing foothills of Slievecoiltia, at the point where the steep slope meets a gentler incline. This is an oval overgrown area (dims. c. 40m NW-SE; c. 35m NE-SW) defined by an earthen bank best preserved E-S-W (at S: Wth 6m; int. H 1.6m; ext. H 2m), on the uphill side. There is an external fosse, best preserved E-S-W (at S: Wth of top 6.5m; Wth of base 2m; ext. D 1.4m). The bank is little more than a scarp W-N-E (at N: Wth 4m; int. H 0.5m; ext. H 2.2m), and the fosse becomes a stream at N. There is an entrance (Wth 4m) and causeway at S. Rath (WX034-033----) is c. 260m to the E but c. 50m higher in elevation.
