It was described in 1939 as a kidney-shaped mound of chared stones and black earth (dims c. 10m N-S; c. 5m E-W; H c. 1.3m) open slightly to the W where there was a N-S drain (OSFM). It was also noted by Ranson (1945, 54), but no feature is visible at ground level in pasture in 1987. It was recorded in 1939 as a C-shaped mound (Wth c. 9m; H c. 0.3-0.5m) open to the NW (diam. c. 6m) (OSFM). It was not visible at ground level in 1987, but it was noted by Ranson (1945, 54). Detached three-bay single-storey farmhouse with half-dormer attic, dated 1836, on a rectangular plan. Now disused. Corrugated-asbestos-covered hipped slate roof with pressed iron ridges, paired red brick Running bond central chimney stacks with capping now missing, and no rainwater goods surviving on slate flagged eaves. Fine roughcast coursed rubble stone battered walls with cut- or hammered granite flush quoins to corners. Square-headed central door opening with concealed lintel framing replacement glazed timber door. Square-headed window openings with lichen-spotted cut-granite sills, and concealed lintels framing two-over-two timber sash windows having part exposed sash boxes.
