Excavated (E3468) during 2005 by E. Devine as a part of Site 3 at Clogh, which was one of the excavations undertaken in advance of the construction of the N11 Arklow-Gorey link-raod. Situated in a low-lying landscape c. 20m W of a small N-S stream, but the original stream may have meandered E-W across the site. An area of broken and burnt stone (dims. c. 9m x c. 6m; T 0.1m) had been cut by many drains but it overlay two troughs. A rectangular trough (dims. 2.1m x 1.8m; D 0.8m) with stake-holes at the corners had a clay base and was filled largely by burnt mound material. A second recatngular trough (dims. 1.6m x 0.7m; D 0.55m) with a wood-lined base cut the SW corner of the first trough. Two pits were also part of the complex, and fulacht fia (WX011-053001-), which might not be a separate site was c. 17m to the SE. (Devine 2008) Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 12 April, 2012 - WX011-053001: Fulacht fia, https://heritagedata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=0c9eb9575b544081b0d296436d8f60f8&query=18a4b61b268-layer-9%2CSMRS%2CWX011-053001-. Excavated (E3468) during 2005 by E. Devine as a part of Site 3 at Clogh, which was one of the excavations undertaken in advance of the construction of the N11 Arklow-Gorey link-road. Situated in a low-lying landscape W of a small N-S stream, but the original stream may have meandered E-W across the site. A spread of burnt mound material (dims. 13m x 5m; T 0.1m) was distubed by drain-digging but overlay a subrectangular trough (dims. 2.2m x 1.8m; D 0.1m) that may have had a plank lining. Fulacht fia (WX011-053----) is 17m to the NW, but separate sites might not have been involved. (Devine 2008) Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 12 April, 2012 - WX011-063: Fulacht fia, https://heritagedata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=0c9eb9575b544081b0d296436d8f60f8&query=18a4b61b268-layer-9%2CSMRS%2CWX011-063----. Excavated (E3469) during 2005 by J. Lehane as Site 4 at Clogh, which was one of the excavations undertaken in advance of the construction of the N11 Arklow-Gorey link-road. Located at the bottom of a gentle SE-facing slope. An irregularly shaped spread of broken and burnt stone (dims. 9m E-W; 3-5m N-S; max. D 0.25m) overlay a rectangular trough with rounded corners (dims. 2.1m x 1.32-1.46m; D 0.32m) filled with burnt mound material. Six post-holes in the base of the trough suggest that it was plank-lined while a group of 14 closely placed post-holes just to the SW is interpreted as a structure used in loading the unloading the trough. (Lehane 2008) Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 12 April, 2012 Works at or in relation to a recorded monument need two months' written notice to the National Monuments Service (National Monuments (Amendment) Act 1994, section 12). ## Architectural heritage (National Inventory of Architectural Heritage) - Monument, 1935–1945, Regional interest, registry number 15701114, https://www.buildingsofireland.ie/niah/search.jsp?type=record&county=WX®no=15701114.
