Marked only on the 1940 ed. of the OS 6 inch map where it is described as a ‘Gallán’. It is situated in a low-lying landscape just on the S side of an E-W road but its precise location is not known. It has been removed but a photograph (St Peter's Annual 1917, 31) shows a large standing stone that is narrower at the base than c. 1m over the ground. Measurements taken in 1940 are ‘2 feet 6 inches by 3 feet at the base (dims 0.75m x 0.9m), 2 feet 9 inches by 2 feet 6 inches (0.85m x 0.75m) at the top and 6 feet, 6 inches high (H c. 2m)’ OSFM). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Located on a low-lying, gently undulating landscape. An area of c. 60 acres (c. 22 ha) has the cropmarks of numerous ditches visible on aerial photographs (MM (43) 2-5, 27-32) and on digital aerial photographs (WX047-137_1 to _4). Most of the ditches are single features and many can be equated with field banks marked on the 1837 and 1940 eds of the OS 6-inch map, or run parallel with them. They create rectangular fields (dims c. 150m x c. 30-40m), and the fields relate directly to the cropmark of a N-S roadway that is marked on the 1839 ed. of the map and which still survives as a farm lane at its S end between Sigginstown and Walshestown. The fields are therefore probably 18th century in date, but amongst the fields there are five enclosures that do not relate to the fields and pre-date them. Located on a slight rise in a fairly level landscape. The cropmark of a circular enclosure (diam. c. 80m) defined by a single fosse feature is visible on aerial photographs (MM (43) 2-5, 27-32) and on digital aerial photographs (WX047-137_1 to _4). It is contemporary with rath (WX047-137003-) as its fosse is attached to the fosse of the rath at NE. No entrance is visible and it was probably a field utilising the slightly higher ground. Enclosure (WX047-137001-) is c. 70m to the SW. Located on a low-lying, gently undulating landscape. The cropmark of a circular enclosure (diam. c. 30-35m) defined by a single fosse feature (Wth c. 3-5m) is visible on aerial photographs (MM (43) 2-5, 27-32) and digital aerial photographs (WX047-137_1 to _4). There are gaps at E and NW. The enclosure (WX047-137002-) is attached to the SW and appears to be contemporary as the defining fosse of the enclosure is connected to the fosse of the rath at SW.
