Located on a level landscape c. 250m from the South Slob of Wexford harbour. Archaeological excavation (02E0411) recorded a rectangular trough (dims 2.2m x 0.75m; D 0.12-0.34m) beneath a spread of burnt mound material (dims c. 4m x c . 4m; T 0.1m). At its S end the trough opened into a cluster of pits (diam. c. 0.4-0.6m; D 0.1-0.35m) with some post-holes and stake-holes. A curvilinear trench (Wth 0.25-0.34m; max. D 0.34m) with three post-holes and some stake-holes was c. 4m E of the trough, and is interpreted as a wind-break. Archaeological testing (05E0028) identified a ring-ditch (Stafford 2008) that was subsequently partially excavated under the same licence while the unexcavated portion was preserved under undeveloped ground (McManus 2008). A circular area (diam. 10.2m) was defined by a slot-trench with a number of internal post-holes and stake-holes. An entrance was not identified in the excavated portion, but may survive SE-SW. A large pit outside the structure to the S may have been associated and functioned as a storage pit. The ditch-barrow (WX042-090----) is c. 150m to the SW. A parcel is the land of a title, not an address. The owner's name is in the Land Registry of Tailte Éireann: a copy of the folio can be ordered on landdirect.ie, for a fee; this site names no owner.
