The parish church of Tikillin is within a raised rectangular and scrub-covered graveyard (dims c. 40-50m E-W; c. 30-35m N-S) defined by low scarps, with a retaining wall at N. According to a Visitation by Thomas Ram, the Protestant bishop of Ferns, in 1615 this church was impropriate to Henry Wallop and the name of the priest, if any, is not recorded. Nor is the condition of the church building recorded (Hore 1900-11, vol. 6, 268). The fragmentary grass covered foundations of the church (ext. dims. 15.5m E-W; 6.85m N-S) are defined by masonry walls (Wth 1m; max. H 1m), but the S wall is completely missing. Hipped slate roof centred on pitched slate roof (north), clay ridge tiles, paired rendered central chimney stacks having shallow stringcourses below capping supporting terracotta tapered pots, and replacement uPVC rainwater goods on timber eaves boards on slightly overhanging timber boarded eaves retaining cast-iron octagonal or ogee hoppers and downpipes. Part creeper- or ivy-covered roughcast walls bellcast over rendered plinth. Square-headed central door opening approached by flight of seven concrete steps, rendered doorcase with engaged fluted columns on plinths supporting iron-covered "Cyma Recta"- or "Cyma Reversa"-detailed cornice framing timber panelled double doors. Bisected segmental-headed door opening into house with rendered surround having stepped reveals framing replacement glazed timber double doors having overlight. Square-headed window openings with cut-granite sills, and concealed dressings framing three-over-six (basement) or six-over-six timber sash windows. Square-headed window openings to rear (north) elevation centred on elliptical-headed window opening (half-landing), cut-granite sills, and concealed dressings framing six-over-six timber sash windows centred on six-over-nine timber sash window. Creeper- or ivy-covered rendered walls. Square-headed central door opening approached by flight of eight cut-granite steps with cut-granite step threshold, and concealed dressings with hood moulding over framing timber boarded or tongue-and-groove timber panelled double doors. Square-headed window openings to "cheeks" with cut-granite sills, and concealed dressings with hood mouldings over framing fixed-pane timber fittings having margins. Square-headed window openings in bipartite arrangement with cut-granite sills, timber mullions, and concealed dressings with hood mouldings over framing nine-over-nine timber sash windows.
