Described as the site of Kildenis church on the 1839 and 1940 eds of the OS 6-inch map, and located on the NW-facing slope of a slight NE-SW spur of Ballydonigan Hill, the summit of which is c. 1.5 km to the ENE. This is a D-shaped grass-covered area (dims 40m NE-SW; 30m NW-SE) with some trees defined by a scarp SW–NE, with portion of a bank at NE. A vegetation change (Wth at SW: 5.5m) at the base of the scarp may indicate a silted fosse but the site is truncated by a NE-SW road at SE. There is no visible evidence of a church at ground level and there is no evidence of burial. A bullaun stone (dims 0.83m x 0.45m; H 0.5m) within a single basin (dims 0.32m x 0.26m; D 0.2m) is at the centre of the enclosure. Identified in centre-line testing (E4110) in advance of the M11 Gorey to Enniscorthy road scheme and set aside for resolution as Tinnacross 2 (Hardy et al. 2010, 69-70). It is situated on a level landscape with a small NE-SW stream c. 150m to the NW. It was completely excavated (E4229) by M. McNamara when three cremation pits, two with possible marker-posts, were recorded within 1.5-2.5m of each other. The pits (dims 0.65m x 0.65m; D 0.1m: 0.82m x 0.75m; D 0.15m: 0.4m x 0.25m; DS 0.12m) contained burnt bone and flecks of charcoal. The second and third burials were cut by oval pits (dims 0.75m x 0.82m; D 0.15m: 0.9m x 0.75m; D 0.2m) and a third pit (dims 1.15m x 0.65m; D 0.4m) was c. 5m to the NW. Two of the cremation pits have post-holes adjacent that might have been used to mark the graves. The charcoal spread (WX020-078----) is c. 90m to the E. It is situated on a level landscape with a small stream running SE-NW c. 110m to the NE and running E-W c. 125m to the N. It was completely excavated (E4228) by M. McNamara as a single spread of charcoal-rich clay (dims 1.65m x 1.6m; T 0.06m) that may be prehistoric but which produced a copper-alloy spoon on its upper surface. The prehistoric flat cemetery (WX020-077----) is c. 90m to the W and the burnt mounds (WX020-080001-; WX020-080002-) are c. 200m to the ENE in Myaugh townland. Two-arch hump back road bridge over stream, extant 1840. Part creeper- or ivy-covered walls centred on triangular cutwaters to pier having overgrown capping with rubble stone or schist soldier course coping to parapets. Pair of round arches with lichen-spotted rubble stone or schist voussoirs. Sited spanning stream with unkempt banks to stream. - Tinnacross House, farm house, 1800–1840, Regional interest, registry number 15702035, https://www.buildingsofireland.ie/niah/search.jsp?type=record&county=WX®no=15702035. Detached three-bay two-storey farmhouse with half-dormer attic, extant 1840, on an L-shaped plan originally three-bay two-storey centred on single-bay full-height gabled breakfront on an engaged half-octagonal plan with single-bay single-storey gabled projecting glazed porch to ground floor; single-bay (two-bay deep) full-height return (south). "Improved", pre-1904, producing present composition. Occupied, 1911. Now disused. Hipped slate roof on an L-shaped plan including gablets to window openings to half-dormer attic centred on pitched (gabled) slate roof, lichen-spotted clay ridge tiles, paired red brick Running bond central chimney stacks having thumbnail beaded corbelled stepped capping supporting yellow terracotta pots, concrete or rendered coping to gablets, and cast-iron rainwater goods on rendered eaves retaining cast-iron octagonal or ogee hoppers and downpipes. Rendered, ruled and lined walls to front (north) elevation with rusticated quoins to corners; lime rendered surface finish (remainder). Segmental-headed central door opening into farmhouse. Square-headed window openings centred on segmental-headed window opening (half-dormer attic) with cut-granite sills, and concealed dressings framing six-over-six (ground floor), three-over-six (first floor) or six-over-six (half-dormer attic) timber sash windows without horns centred on six-over-six timber sash window (first floor) or fixed-pane fitting having fanlight (half-dormer attic). Square-headed window openings to rear (south) elevation with cut-granite sills, and concealed dressings framing two-over-two timber sash windows having part exposed sash boxes. Interior including (ground floor): central entrance hall retaining carved timber surrounds to door openings framing timber panelled doors; and carved timber surrounds to door openings to remainder framing timber panelled doors with timber panelled shutters to window openings.
