Identified in centre-line testing (E4110) in advance of the M11 Gorey to Enniscorthy road scheme and set aside for resolution as Toom7 (Hardy et al. 2010, 77). It is situated on a fairly level landscape. It was excavated (E4285) by C. Hardy as two pits (dims 0.7m x 0.5m; D 0.24m: 1.54m x 1.14m: D 0.25m) and what may be a tree-bole (3.32m x 2.13m; D 0.46m), all within a small area (dims c. 10m x c. 6m) and all containing fills with flecks of charcoal. A sample from the larger pit produced a C14 date of Cal BC 2196-1985, and the only artefact recovered was a piece of worked quartz from the same context. Identified in centre-line testing (E4110) in advance of the M11 Gorey to Enniscorthy road scheme and set aside for resolution as Toom 6 (Hardy et al. 2010, 76-7). It is situated on a slightly undulating landscape. Excavation (E4280) of an extensive area (dims c. 60m E-W; c. 30m N-S) by Y. Whitty recorded twelve pits, seven post-holes and an E-W drain (Wth 0.45m; D 0.4m; L 60m plus). Six small pits (dims 0.44m x 0.36m; D 0.1m to 0.95m x 0.65m; D 0.16m) and five larger pits (dims 1.4m x 1.37m; D 0.48m to 3m x 0.95m; D 0.38m) were concentrated in the NW corner of the excavated area, but no pattern was discernible, apart from three post-holes in a line (L 3m). Almost all the artefacts are from the topsoil, and are medieval and post-medieval in character. Identified in centre-line testing (E4110) in advance of the M11 Gorey to Enniscorthy road scheme and set aside for resolution as Toom 5 (Hardy et al. 2010, 75-6). It is situated on a slightly undulating landscape. Excavation (E4282) of an extensive area (dims 45m E-W; 40m N-S) by M. McNamara recorded a concentrated subrectangular area (dims c. 11m E-W; c. 9m N-S) where all but three of the 104 stake-holes were concentrated, together with 12 of the 17 post-holes. No pattern was discernible apart from a concentration of the stake-holes at the edges of an oval area (dims c. 11.5m E-W; c. 7.5m N-S), which may have formed a structure. A sample from a post-hole produced a C14 date of Cal. BC 2462-2210. A second phase is probably represented by four pits. Two of the pits (dims 1.55m x 1m; D 0.45m: 0.79m x 0.7m;D 0.29m) were located c. 14m to the NNW of the stake-hole area, and two others were located 7m (dims 0.48m x 0.37m; D 0.04m) and 11m (dims 0.85m x 0.85m; D 0.55m) to the WSW of the same focus. A sample from the last produce a C14 date of Cal BC 39 to Cal AD 80. The pits and post-holes (WX020-099----) are c. 70m to the NNE and the hearth (WX020-101----) is c. 140m to the SSW. Identified in centre-line testing (E4110) in advance of the M11 Gorey to Enniscorthy road scheme and set aside for resolution as Toom 4 (Hardy et al. 2010, 75). It is situated towards the top of a slight S-facing slope. Excavation (E4339) by L. Barker recorded a single hearth (dims 0.88m x 0.8m; T 0.24m) with a concave base containing two fills of sandy clay with charcoal that are best interpreted as a hearth. No artefacts were recovered and no date can be attributed to it. The pits and post-holes (WX020-100----) are c. 140m to the NNE. Identified in centre-line testing (E4110) in advance of the M11 Gorey to Enniscorthy road scheme and set aside for resolution as Toom 3 (Hardy et al. 2010, 74-5). It is situated on a slight S-facing slope with a NE-SW section of a small meandering E-W stream c. 10m to the S. Excavation (E4281) by Y. Whitty recorded a C-shaped spread of broken and burnt stone (dims 6.3m x 4.5m; max. T 0.26m) open to the SE overlying an oval trough (dims 2m x 1.2m; D 0.4m). A short gully (Wth 0.9m; D 0.2m; L 1.4m) attached to the S of the trough decants into a palaeochannel. A collection of 26 stake-holes c. 1m N of the trough and gully form two rough E-W lines in a concentrated area (dims 1.8m x 1.7m), and c. 5m N of the trough were two pits (dims 1.2m x 0.45m; D 0.3m: 0.38m x 0.37m; D 0.23m) and a post-hole. The fulacht fia (WX020-103----) is c. 85m to the ENE and the unrelated hearth (WX020-107----) is c. 190m to the ESE in Ballydawmore townland. Identified in centre-line testing (E4110) in advance of the M11 Gorey to Enniscorthy road scheme and set aside for resolution as Toom 1 (Hardy et al. 2010, 73). It is situated in the valley of a small E-W stream, which is c. 10m to the S. Full excavation (E4168) by M. McNamara revealed a NE trough (dims 1.35m x 1m; D 0.4m) truncated at NW by a pit (dims 2.75m x 1.79m; D 0.25m), and a truncated SW trough (dims 1.87m x 1.36m; D 0.65m). The troughs were c. 3m apart and both were beneath a burnt stone spread (dims 7.5m NE-SW; 3.6m NW-SE; max. T 0.31m) that was partially covered at E by silt from a N-S palaeochannel . The channel was partially excavated (E4167) as Toom 2 (McNamara 2013b) together with a hearth (dims 0.75m x 0.56m; D 0.3m) that was located c. 10m N of the fulacht fia, which the hearth probably served. The channel (exposed L 7.25m; exposed Wth 3m) was filled with a grey silt that had flecks of orange clay and small pebbles. The NE trough produced a C14 date of cal. BC 968-823, and from the SW trough the dates varied from cal. BC 1042-908. The fulacht fia (WX020-102----) is c. 85m to the WSW and the unrelated hearth (WX020-107----) is c. 130m to the SE in Ballydawmore townland.
