There is an entrance through both banks at SE (Wth 1.7m (inner bank); Wth 3.2m (outer bank)) with a corresponding causeway over the fosse. The terminals of the outer bank turn inwards at this entrance. No indication of internal feature. There is an entrance in the bank (Wth 2.2m) at the WNW with a possible causeway, now obscured by field clearance. No indication of internal features. Situated on a marked SE-facing slope in rough rocky pasture. Oval enclosure (dims. c. 80m NE-SW; c. 70m NW-SE), defined from NW-N by a steep scarp in the hillside, possibly faced with drystone walling. Elsewhere it is defined by an earth and stone bank (Wth 2.5m; max. H 1.4m). At the NE a sunken trackway along the perimeter may represent an outer fosse. There are gaps at the SW (Wth 2.5m), N (Wth 2.5m) and NE (Wth 3m). The approach from the NW and SE is marked by a sunken trackway, and the site is an integral part of the surrounding field systems. There is a steep internal slope with a small stream which flows SE out through the enclosure; there are no internal features visible at ground level but circular and rectangular hut sites are identifiable in the N corner on the aerial photograph (CUCAP, AOX 13). Detached three-bay two-storey miller's house, built c.1790, with 19th century additions to the north side. The walls are finished in roughcast with a stone sill course to the first floor level. The panelled timber door has a radial fanlight over and is set within a semi-circular headed opening with plain stone dressings and drip moulding. The door is now covered with a recent glazed porch. Window openings are flat-headed with either six over six or three over three timber sash frames. The hipped roof is finished natural slate and has cast-iron rainwater goods. Chimneystacks are constructed in ashlar granite with corbelled caps and clay pots. The house is set within a large mature garden.
