The foundations of a building (dims. 10.5m E-W; 7m N-S) containing some roughly dressed granite blocks, traditionally the site of a church and named as such on the 1838 OS 6-inch map. Some cut stone, possibly from a door or window, is reputed to have been removed from the site. The cairn was hollowed out forming a roughly circular enclosure and there is some indication that edge of the cairn was at one stage structured to form a bank (Wth c. 5m). There is a well known as 'St Gad's Well' (WI015-029003-) excavated into the cairn at the W. Herity (1974, 258) suggests it may be a passage tomb, but there is no trace of a kerb. Three slabs lie in the SW quadrant. The N example (dims. 6m N-S; 4m E-W) has a large slab at the NE corner suggesting an entrance while the second hut (dims. 9.7m E-W; 6.8m N-S) is 3m to the SW and has an entrance indicated by two large prostrate slabs at the W end.
