Detached five-bay three-storey railway hotel, opened 1863. Closed, 1931. The hotel is roughly square in plan with a conservatory-like gabled porch projection to the north, and a recessed open arcaded area to the east. To the south side of the arcade is a relatively shallow full-height projecting bay. The façade is finished in largely unpainted lined render with string and eaves courses and moulded archivolts to the elliptical and semi-circular headed arches of the arcade. The slated hipped roof has a slight overhang and tall rendered chimneystacks. The building is entered from the north via the gabled porch, and from the east via a timber and glazed double door with semi-circular fanlight, set within the arcaded area. The windows are flat-headed and have mainly one over one timber sash frames. Cast-iron rainwater goods. The hotel is set in a commanding position overlooking the railway cutting, with a flight of stone steps leading from the platform directly to the arcaded area. - Rathdrum Railway Station, foot bridge, 1870–1885, Regional interest, registry number 16318035, https://www.buildingsofireland.ie/niah/search.jsp?type=record&county=WI®no=16318035. Single span footbridge over a railway track, constructed c.1875 replacing a similar bridge which collapsed in 1873. The bridge is of lattice girder construction and is supported on high ground to the west and a purpose-built stone pier with flight of steps (all built into a wall), to the east. There is a metal semi-circular headed arch at either end of the bridge, both of which appear to be 20th-century additions. The bridge is set within a railway station complex, with the station building itself to the west side of the cutting. - Rathdrum Railway Station, fountain, 1865–1885, Regional interest, registry number 16318036, https://www.buildingsofireland.ie/niah/search.jsp?type=record&county=WI®no=16318036. Decorative cast-iron drinking fountain of c.1875 built into a wall next to a railway platform. The fountain is in typically elaborate high Victorian style with a reeded basin partly set within an niche with semi-circular shell pattern head, above which is a roundel panel with a shield with heron motif thereon. Spandel panels are filled with floral designs and rope pattern and other beading encloses the main features of the structure. The fountain is topped with two dragons in profile and a leaf finial. A metal drinking cup is attached to the fountain by a chain. ## Ground and risks (Radon Risk Map of Ireland, EPA; Landslide Susceptibility Classification and LiDAR, Geological Survey Ireland) - Radon: at the centre of the townland of Corballis Lower, about 1 in 5 homes in this area is likely to have high radon levels.
