- WI007-033: Megalithic tomb - portal tomb, https://heritagedata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=0c9eb9575b544081b0d296436d8f60f8&query=18a4b61b268-layer-9%2CSMRS%2CWI007-033----. Situated on the SE-facing lower slopes of Knockree Hill, and incorporated into the townland and field boundary. The chamber (dims. 1.3m x 1.3m) faces uphill to the NW and consists of two tall portal stones, two sidestones and a broken doorstone which leans to the SE and rests on the backstone. The roofstone is displaced and rests against the N sidestone. A large block of stone lies between the portal-stones and may not be an original feature. Two low stones are set in front of the E portal-stone. (Powell 1941, 9-23; Price 1934, 36) The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wicklow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. A large earth-fast quadrangular granite boulder (dims L 2.6m; Wth 2.3m; H 0.55m) with a smooth, sub-circular depression (diams. 0.28m; 0.25m; D 0.06m) just SW of centre.
