Situated near the summit of a NW-SE ridge, one mile NE of Glencree. Two large rocks one of which displays a very weathered incised Greek cross with T-shaped terminals and the letters IHS'. Situated on a steep S-facing slope. D-shaped enclosure (dims. c. 50m N-S; 45m E-W) defined by a bank consisting of earthfast boulders and earth, surmounted in some places by an irregularly constructed drystone wall. There is no visible entrance or fosse. The site is incorporated into the surrounding field system. Situated on a gentle S/SE-facing slope. The original enclosure at this site appears to have been about 65m in diameter although the present remains are smaller (dims. c. 40m N-S; c. 35m E-W). It is defined at the W by a curving earth and stone bank (Wth 1.6m; H 0.9m) with drystone facing and on the N side by a stream. It was known as Ros Lachan (Ducks’ Wood) and Ros an tSéipéil (Chapel Wood), but if it was ever used as a graveyard it had been abandoned by the early nineteenth century (O'Flanagan 1928, 3-4). A low mound (dims. 3.5m x 2.5m), known locally as the 'Bishop's Grave', lies in the W sector. A small rectangular field has been superimposed on the SE portion of the site. A bullaun stone with a single oval basin (dims. 0.4m x 0.36m; D 0.18m) lies in the SW corner of the enclosure and is still used to cure warts. Situated on a gentle S/SE-facing slope. Oval enclosure (dims. 40m E-W; 30m N-S) defined by a substantial stone wall (Wth 1.5m; int. H 1.35m; ext. H 1.5m). This forms a paddock within a field system of similar massive walls. The rubble wall is very well constructed and there is a capping of alternating long and short stones surmounting the outer face which is consistently higher than the inner one. At the N (upslope) an inner wall (Wth 1.2-1.5m) has been added to the original construction probably as a buttressing feature. The ground within the enclosure has been thoroughly cleared apart from some very large earthfast boulders which have been used as the foundation of carefully constructed and faced clearance cairns. There are no gaps in the enclosure wall and no trace of an entrance feature or a fosse.
